Boy, I'm really pizzed! Yesterday, my father-in-law comes over and, as usual, he likes to get onto the computer and show me what he's been up to lately. His latest bit of fun is the off-base notion of "Chemtrails"; that is, the idea that the contrails emited by aircraft flying overhead are really government airplanes spraying unknown substances down upon the population below.

Well, I use an older, non-spyware-filled copy of Netscape and he is used to IE's search engine. So, I pulled up the rarely used IE browser, typed CHEMSTRAILS into the Search engine and several web sites popped up. Naturally.

The first one was called CHEMTRAILS.ORG and I clicked on it. It re-directed me to a page that promises that some pre-teen nudity from a webcam web site with links to Little Boys and Girls pictures!

Call me old, but it really took me a few moments to realize what the content really was and that there were no links to Chemtrail info pages!

Now, isn't this sort of crap illegal? I mean, re-directing used for its intended purpose is a big help to surfers and web site owners alike. But to have this kiddy-porn website pop-up, that's just plain wrong. Isn't there some web page where you can report this kind of crap to?

p.s. I typed in chemtrails.org into my netscape browser and it took me to a different place - still nothing to do with chemtrails, however!

No.

I do agree that its a pain, however at this point in time the internet is like the old west.

Some day they may put some control in, but for now it seems anything goes.

There is a book related site that will produce the same pornographic information if it is slightly misspelled.

Pornographic email will follow.

There are supposedly thousands of porn sites that will get you directed there by misspelling a word by one letter. Your thread stated that you typed chemStrails and that the actual name was chemtrails! It is apparently legal and is a major source of concern to parents all over the world.

Well, actually, I clicked the provided Chemtrails.org link.

I wonder. You know, they couldn't sell that kind of crap from a news stand. Why is it that they can redirect my browser to their stupid porn when I obvioulsy had no intention of doing so? That sort of nonsense is outright fraud and it ought to be illegal. I've had this experience before and wondered whom to report it to. After all, child porn IS illegal on the Internet and elsewhere.
