Business as usual. When the machine shop owner where I worked came out with asbestos blocks and announced he was going to machine them without any containment and no plan to clean up I went home. I was the only one of about 40 guys smart enough not to stand and breath asbestos all day as he cut it and blew the scape away with an air hose. They told me "We work here - we have to do what they say."

gravid, it's precisely that attitude that prevents me from being employed at any number of large multi-national corporations in town. Hence, I'm self-employed.

Labor groups, environmentalists and downtown residents say that federal and local agencies downplayed potential risks posed by the dust, leaving residents confused.
The bastards downplayed the risks because someone might question why "their" asses were not out there working in asbestos fumes.
Bush was hiding while Cheney was in a bunker. Leaders of both parties in Congress, and, in fact, all of Congress, were escorted from Washington.
