The Halliburton Company is benefiting in a very big way from this so-called war on terrorism. They built the cells at Guantanamo that hold political prisoners, they feed American troops all over the world. Either directly or through subsidiary companies Haliburton, from whence the vice president directly came, has gone from middlin' obscurity to riches during the bush administration - most especially since 9/11.

Of course the vice president has nothing to do with the success of Halliburton. Like all other members of the bush administration, Cheney has demonstrated his extraordinary personal integrity and high level of committment to the welfare of the state and people of these United States by steadfastly refused to promote the company in the competitive world of defense contracting.

The story of he Halliburton Company is a story of remarkable success even in the face of the current widespread economic hardship. As such, they can be seen as an inspiration to us all.

"In a written statement, the company said that Mr. Cheney "steadfastly refused" to market KBR's services to the United States government in the five years he served as chief executive."

And they kept him on as CEO? Gimmee a break. LOL!

auroranorth: "This is the type of sickening things that all people should be pissed about you keep posting them."

Why is it sickening? Is it because our "leaders" or at least the Republication ones (I am neither) shouldn't be investigated? Should we be kept in ignorance?

Is it because krs has the nerve to speak out in his postings?

Should he be like my German relatives, knowing Hitler was wrong but following anyway?

If elected leaders (Ha!) like Mr. Cheney have nothing to hide they should welcome the media digging into their past or that of groups or companies where they had dealings. I believe that goes for ANY of them.

I haven't read enough of your threads/responses to know. Do you prefer articles about Clinton's shorts and his affairs or Bush's relatives and their mis-adventures?

I wonder how many lurkers or regular posters go on to find further information because they weren't aware of what was posted that day? Even if they just wanted to prove him wrong?

I listen to NPR & the BBC but do not have time to regularly scan most newspapers or watch the US evening news. I consider ABC, NBC and CBS a waste of time. I dumped cable when the price went to $480+ a year!

I am glad some things are brought out here. I don't have alot of time to post, and usually skim, but I have gone into google many times for more information.

You are so right, aposter.

But maybe Auroranorth intended to say, Keep up the good work, Krs! This is the kind of corruption that should not be overlooked!!!!

A current link..
Cheney, Halliburton to be Sued over Alleged Accounting Fraud

Cheney is an Unashamed Corporate Shill

And has anybody seen the rascal lately?
The conservative public interest group Judicial Watch has filed a shareholders' lawsuit alleging that the vice president and other executives overstated profits by more than $400 million to deceive investors.

exerpt....

At least his boss, the president, appears to be a little bit embarrassed by his past business experience of taking investors for a ride with Harken Energy and Texas taxpayers for suckers with the Texas Rangers baseball stadium shenanigans.

But not our vice president. He's not only not even ashamed of presiding over the Halliburton Corp. while it was cooking the books on its earnings, he wants to keep the world safe for more rape and pillage of the unsuspecting by other greedy corporate moguls.
