Russia signed a 5-year,$40 billion dollar trade deal with Iraq, making it more difficult to rally support for any U.S. invasion and straining our tenuous relationship with the Russkies. They have now continued to strengthen their ties to three "axis-of-evil" countries-Iraq, Iran and North Korea. Is another "cold war" inevitable?

Just because they are trying to change their economic system to a semi-capitalist (semi-gangster) one instead of cental planning does not mean in any way that what they percieve as their interests are going to be the same as the interests of the US.

Just a month ago, Moscow announced that it would expand its nuclear energy cooperation with Iran.
Washington has often criticized Moscow's nuclear cooperation with Iran, saying Iran is using the Russian technology and know-how to build nuclear weapons. Iran denies it is trying to develop weapons of mass destruction, and Moscow says the program is entirely civilian in nature.

Iran (and the Saudis too) SHOULD be near the top of the hitlist. Not only have they been caught red handed running arms to terrorists, they also have government officials on record as saying Israel should be wiped out with nuclear arms because the Arabs larger populations could withstand an Israeli nuclear salvo.
There is also something strange in crash programs to build a half dozen nuclear power plants when you're floating on oil.

I don't think so. It's like reading all about what's going on with our government by reading foreign newspapers. Russia already knows that Bush is a Lame Duck on the issue of attacking Iraq, because they aren't stupid enough to provoke the clowns running our government not to get nasty with the ex-Soviet Union if they get in the way of Bush Oil. A couple of weeks ago, Britian's PM told Bush "Call me if there's a War on.", meaning that the War on Terrorism is all over, internationally that is. So, Russia is going about its normal business, Britain is going about its normal business, and Bush and the GOP are going about their normal business. Remember what happened the LAST time that Bush got to take a 30 day vacation? Wasn't too long and we were at War! I wonder what sort of nonsense they are cooking up for us now?
