Tue Or Not; It is unlikely, in my opinion that such an accusation would be accepted as possible in the USA particularly in NY, when you consider the political domination of the Jewish Lobby.

Lots of those stories went around. I heard that the FBI and NSA and some other government agencies told their employees to not come in that day. We've all heard the accusations that Bush was told not to come into the White House that day. Dick Cheney and a few othrs were defenitely proved to have been told not to come in to the White House that morning and when asked, Dick Cheney said: "So what?" I did hear one Christian Radio commentator make mention of the Jews one. It is unfortunate that people's sense of humor doesn't filter through common sense first; especially where it concerns events where loss of life occured.

I would believe it with a list of names, still alive, who worked there and was off that day.The story came out on a TV magizine storey,A Jewish woman was crying over her two loved ones caught in the tower.
She was told of that rumor,It did nothing to cheer her up.I guess they werent on the Jewish A list.

Your local paper you say? So let me guess...The Kabul Times? Islamabad Herald? Saudi Arabian Tribune? Where do you live anyway? Care to link to that "newspaper story?"

Snopes says it never happened.
Interesting to see all the urban legends surrounding 9-11. Some I thought were true.
Not true- "Four thousand Israelis employed by companies housed in the World Trade Center stayed home from work on September 11, warned in advance of the impending attack on the World Trade Center.* " (5 October)

No it wasn't the The Kabul Times
From memory, I believe it was 'The Advertiser' in South Australia.
Owned by Rupert Murdoch, unless I'm mistaken.

Thank you Helenjw, very informative, sounds reasonable.
FYI I am not Muslim, but am sick of hearing propoganda/abuse pointed at every Muslim around the world.
Locally, they have been abused, physically attacked, spat at, etc, etc.
The AW boards are also riddled with abuse.
Am I not equally justified at pointing the finger elsewhere?
Do I not get the freedom to speak????
Tell me how many ‘settlers’ are occupying land OUTSIDE of Israel, into an area which most of the world acknowledges as Palestinian, One recent media report claimed 450.
Why do so many have New York accents? Why are they ‘white’ men not Semites, as one would assume all in that area would be.
Quite simply, they are not Hebrews, just fanatics.
Also FYI a Semite is a member of any of the peoples said to be descended from Shem,
Or speaking a Semitic language, Assyrian, Aramaic, Hebrew, Phoenician, Arabic, Etheopic, etc.
Why must I, and my children be threatened, because of the sake of a mere 450 fanatics, or for the sake of profit by some oil magnate.
Even in Israel, there are those that would see my point and in fact even protest in support of the Palestinians.
Now it’s about the twin towers, what was our ‘legitimate’ gripe before that.
Face it, this WAR is all about OIL and the presence of Jewish ‘SETLERS’ in an INCREASING area of land, which the Palestinians claim ,(and most of the world knows)does not belong to the Israelis.

Agenda?
I am of Greek descent.
I have no hidden agenda.
My 'agenda' is peace on earth.
I have no other agenda!!
Israel belong to the Hebrews, not the Jews.
Katd & junquemama
Agenda?? Are you of Hebrew or Jewish descent?
So those that do not conform to your beliefs have an agenda??
Do you?
A 'just' judge would remove herself from a case in which she had a vested interest.
Does your president have any significant personal intere$t in OIL.
What is his 'agenda'

"Am I not equally justified at pointing the finger elsewhere?"

"Do I not get the freedom to speak????"

You come in here spouting Islamic propaganda about the "Jewish lobby," what did you expect, a kiss on the cheek? Get lost, you sick loser.

No matter how thin you want to slice it or where you want to hang it, the UN partitioned the place into 2 pieces in 1947. Jewish emigres took their piece and made a nation. The Palestinians figured the Arabs would massacre the jews and "give" it all to them, so they turned the deal down. They lost... several times.

The explanation for the rumour that 4,000 Jews failed to report to work at the WTC center September 11 that I posted above seemed reasonable to me. According to the article, two reliable papers, the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune were used as sources to implicate Muslims in starting the rumour.
But I have reconsidered posting this explanation because I realize that there is a possibility that it may not be correct or that it may be offensive to Muslims who were not involved in starting the rumour. I am deleting the post.
As the article stated, people of all religions were killed including Jews and Muslims. At least we all agree that it was an awful rumour with absolutely no basis in fact.

It sounds like a fake story. Terorist operate on secrecy. The FBI thinks even the terrorists used on the planes didn't know what the others were doing. To have 1000 Jews living in NY, making such an obvious move, would be absolutely stupid. So don't believe it.

Equal justification = silly
Prof, you got it on the head!!!!!
Freedom of speech??? NO!!
In Australia, and USA more so (I think it would be reasonable to assume); those that give sympathetic argument or pro other Semites, in this area are mocked abused ridiculed slandered etc.
Branded as propagandists, communists, terrorists.
But that’s how war is, the propaganda machinery works to dehumanise ‘the other’ people and even those that show sympathy.
So how can we have freedom of speech if those that may wish to voice it must fear for their standing in society.
It seems quite clear to me that USA is pro Israel and my country follow just like the sheep we have been known to breed.
Yes desquirel, you are right, some genius fulfilled the profecy in the bible and gave them THAT land.
Of all the land in the world it had to be that.
I want Scotland, Alexander the great even made it there I believe, he was a Greek
THAT WAS GREEK SOIL, I WANT IT BACK!!
Silly argument!!!
Are there any others out there that share my thoughts but fear vilification if the speak out.

austbounty, freedom of speech only applies with the government. It has nothing to do with voicing your opinion and people in society telling you to shut up. If you don't want to lose your standing in society, yet still get your opinion across, write your opinion to your Congressman who is there to represent you.
FOS is designed so you can say anything you want without the government coming after you.
Hope that helps clarify the meaning of Freedom of Speech for you.

Israel has no oil,
Their neighbours do (you remember geography??)
Yes quickdraw, sad isn't it,
That even though I'm an Austarlian 1st, my voice won't be heard above a powerfull lobby even though that lobby may not be acting in the interests of Australians.
Im not blaming NeyYorkers but are those NewYork accent 'settlers' draging the rest of NewYork America and us into something we shouldn't be draged in to.
The government won’t get you,??
Officially no, but then again why have we had Muslim households raided by police in Australia, without arrests and no apparent valid reason.
