Men are mice: thereby hangs a tail

"Thursday's publication of the draft genetic sequence - genome - of the mouse, reveals that a mouse and William Shakespeare are described by almost the same set of genes, the difference is in the way they are regulated."

Tee, hee, hee! What will Creationists have to say now? Not only are we descended from an ancestor that shares linage with Apes, but now Man is also descended from Rodents from about 75 million years ago!

There's a buncha articles on the Internet related to this story. Can't you just hear the screams from the Christian Fundamentalists right now? It is to laugh!

I have forgotten how to link, it's been so long since I bothered to post in this place.

So, exactly where is your evidence Borillar? Where is Darwin's "missing link"? Show me your proof-and give me hard facts, not the mumbo-jumbo you and your slanted friends here love to post as facts. The "I believe this mumbo" or the "in the onion it was stated". Give me your evidence. And then we will see where your "facts" lead us.

I don't care about 1 silly article, I want you to post evidence as to your evolution THEORY. For that is all it is, has been, or will be: a theory. Where is the missing link? Where is the proof? C'mon, you claim to be intelligent, show me the money.

BTW, I am off to bed for now, but I will be back in the am to read your "proof"; just so you and your cronies don't think I am ducking you.

LOL! Helen! It'll be worse for bayingbrowser in the morning as I have provided a couple of links to Google, which BB could have done for herself. I didn't invent this news, I am only sharing it here with the RT. If she has to have the proofs that she wants, it's not my job to go get it for her or to do her research for her. Unless, she's willing to send US$1,000.00 to my Paypal account - with a CONFIRMED address!

I want you to give me your evidence, odd couple. I provided you with a link ( all be it a non-hyper one) to refute what you are claiming in your post. If you cannot defend your position on evolution, then why bother trolling for anyone? Oh yeah, I know why: because evolution is an indefensible position, because there is no hard evidence (you know, that point you all like to try to throw in the face of we Christians). Don't like it when the shoe is on the other foot, do you? So, DNA is similar: it's not a duplicate of ours. I don't see any mice running around giving speaches on evoultion. I have yet to meet an ape that wrote a college thesis. I have not met a dolphin that can live on land for months at a time. Just like you normally do, you post a half-truth and have all of your liberal, hate-mongering pals around here rush to your defence.

As to l' Helen, isn't it about time you saw a therapest for your issues? I constantly see you "rushing in" and making silly and often crass statements to others around here. Almost seems to me you have an issue or two in your past (present?) you need dealing with.

I know you all are going to come back with the "not very Christian of you, eh BB", however we are called to defend and give answers for the reason we believe as we do. Time after time I have seen this blather here, like the Harry Potter topic not too long ago. So I am just defending what I believe, no make that KNOW is true. And I am doing it in a way the people here will understand.

What I find really funny is no one in here ever mentioned the Ossuary of "James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus". Oh, I could understand why: the "mainstream" press pretty much wanted to bury it, because they couldn't face the truth that JESUS LIVES, and that the entire Bible is true.

Here is another un-hyphenated link on the ossuary:

http://www.rom.on.ca/ossuary/ossuary_intro.html

Well, it's been real, but now I have something important to do: I will be back later on.

And I have never been a she, Borillar; never been a "gender issue" here. lol

edited to add my unhyphenated link

Bowser,

We all arive with some emotional baggage. Don't we? My issues, present and past, are under "pretty good" control. If my posts appear silly and crass to you, I'll try to respond to your comments seriously and with appropriate consideration and sensitivity - even while you attempt to turn opinion into fact and fantasy into truth.

We've missed you Bowser! You should visit more than once in a blue moon.

Remember, like you have told us before, keep a on your face.

There can be no amount of evidence that will convince someone of something they do not want to believe when they believe in gods, ghosts, and fairies.

Same thing back at you, reamond; no amount of evidence I present to you will change your mind either. But that is not my worry at all, is it? I mean, if your right, and we all derive from some mystical ooze and just happened to "evolve" somehow, comming from chaos into order, then we will know when we die, and it will be all for not. But, when we die, and we Christians are proven correct, you will sadly be on the outside trying to look in. I will place my faith and trust in Jesus over your pile of ooze any day of the week.

BB, you're entitled to your opinion - I really couldn't care less about it, especially about showing you any "proof". I suspect that even if GOD HIMSELF were to come down here to give you a personal visit in person and tell you all abot the evidence, you'd still be in denial of it. So it's no skin off my nose what you want to indulge your fantasies in. If oyu really want to make demads, go find out who's been coming to these conclusions for science and go rail at them for proof for oyu. That would be a much better way to spend your time than being foolish on here.

God has informed us as to how everything has been created, ergo your statement about a personal visit is false.

As to my "railing", I am asking you a serious question: you seem to believe what is in that article as all the proof you seem to need for your evolution theory. I want to know: is this all you have to base your existance on? You are right: I am making a demand of you: no less of one then you would make of me.

Good grief!!!

Yes, Helen, that is something you should worry about. He states it very clearly that if you do not believe in Christ you are going to be seperated from him. But as I said in the past: it will not be my loss, but yours.

And, I think it will be either krs or bunny that will pop in and say I am "filling my needs" or some such thing with my posts here, I assure you; all I am doing is defending my position, much like you all do.

Here is a link for you:

http://www.boundless.org/2000/departments/isms/a0000420.html

Here's an excerpt of the article for you:

For example, scientists have shown that we have 223 genes that are similar to those found in bacteria. We also share similar genes with nematode worms, fruit flies, sea urchins, spiny worms, mice and other organisms.

These genetic similarities are taken as hard evidence that humans once shared a common ancestor with these organisms — and that Darwin was essentially correct. Hence the excitement of Caplan, Baltimore and others.

Not So Fast
If that sounds a bit flimsy, it is.

Berkeley law professor Phillip Johnson, a noted critic of Darwinism and the author of Darwin on Trial and Defeating Darwinism by Opening Minds, has spent many years analyzing Darwinist arguments.

"Darwinists consistently confuse the existence of a pattern with the process that produced it — namely, common descent guided by natural selection," Johnson said. "Whenever they see anything that seems to confirm the existence of the pattern, they think that it confirms their specific theory about how the pattern came about. Of course, it doesn’t."

The reason it doesn’t confirm their theory is that it doesn’t rule out competing explanations, such as intelligent design.

"A lot of things show similarities," Johnson said. "For example, there’s a pattern in the symphonies of Beethoven or the opinions of the United States Supreme Court. One Darwinist used various models of the Corvette as an example of an evolutionary pattern. But in all of those cases, the pattern existed in the mind of a designer. The mind is responsible for both the pattern and the variations on the pattern."

I am an individual here, not associated with any group or any other person. So leave me alone and I will not bother you and your good buddies.
