Overlawyered.com explores an American legal system that too often turns litigation into a weapon against guilty and innocent alike, erodes individual responsibility, rewards sharp practice, enriches its participants at the public's expense, and resists even modest efforts at reform and accountability.

All systems are prone to abuse and should be made accountable to throughly thought out reforms. On the other hand, this is the means whereby disputes can be settled without bloodshed and fair compensation granted to those who suffer harm.

The biggest problem with the legal system is that it is "self" policing, this is the same problem as with all systems and institutions that are self policing.
Legislatures have basically turned all responsibilities for policing the legal system over to the legal system.
Self policing institutions like police forces, churches, and bench and bar, all end up acting in their own interests rather the the greater good of the public they serve.

Reamond,You hit the problem, right on the head. The wolves, guard the sheep pen..Honesty no longer matters,And the law makers sit dailey, perverting the law to their own special interest. We are governed by Lawyers, with more tricks up their sleeves then Harry Houdini, and David Copperfield.
It no longer matters if you are innocent of a crime,You still have to go thru the perverted system so that You will be found guilty of something.
I started to give a case in point,But it was on a personal level. The case was on going,From 1982 untill 1998,The Feds can tie up Judges decision, for ever and hope you die in the mean time. And you will never have enough money to fight them,They have unlimited sources,Your own money, fights You.

Reamond - Even the Mafia is a self -policing org. to a degree. They have standards - you don't hit someone in front of their family - you don't bring your work home. They get upset if the new generation doesn't follow the rules.
