anyone know the interest rates for traffic violation tickets?
a friend of mine called to complain about not paying off a ticket her and her friend got (long story) and I was wondering how much it'll be right about now.
its been a year and the ticket was I think around $300 and it was for running a red light.. or so says the camera that took their picture anyway.
they never took care of it cuz we were teenagers (a year ago we were. heh) and you know how unresponsible we are. sigh.
personally i would have taken care of it and I should have dragged their butts to the police station to take care of it but er.. I didn't.
anyway any info would be greatly appreciated. I checked around the DMV website and other sources but I can't come up with a solid figure or anything.. or even an estimate.
I'm guessing its around a thousand now but I'm not sure.

Just guessing here,It is probley a warrant now,Different ball game.Call and ask if there is a warrant out on this person,and ask how much is owed.

It may be too late but I read that CA has put a "hold" on the use of those red light cameras. If you are able, dispute it by asking for a copy of that particular camera's maintainance(sp?) records. They will usually dismiss the ticket because these machines aren't taken care of as prescribed by the warranty. Just a thought...
