I heard the tail end of a report about some anti-war fanatics from Western countries who are supposedly trying to get to Iraq to act as "human shields" to protect Saddam Hussein. Has anyone heard about this? If it's true, have you packed your bags, Helen?

I've heard that Pro-War advocates have volunteered to act as Human Shields for our troops when they invade Iraq! Are YOUR bags packed yet?

Helen- Although your misspelled link works, you seem to be disinclined, once again, to say anything of substance. Rather you choose to take an adversary position with me.
Borillar- The bottom line is that at my age I would not be much help over there. If we were attacked here by ground troops, however, I would not hesitate to pick up a rifle and shoot back if it came to that. Would you?

Sorry, stusi. That was a generic comment that I made -- not soley directed at you.

stusi, I have said it before on here several times that I have no qualms of defending my own country if invaded, to risk my life to take out the enemy by any means possible. For that reason, our government is stupid for trying to disarm Americans -- it leaves us open to invasion from both within and without.

There are those who say they would defend this country on our soil, but who can't or don't want to comprehend defending our country on foreign soil.

"There are those who say they would defend this country on our soil, but who can't or don't want to comprehend defending our country on foreign soil."

I can't imagine anyone not defending this country on our soil but we are not "defending" our country in Iraq. We are putting our country and the entire region in jeopardy. Preemptive strikes on a country is not considered defense. In fact, a victory in Iraq will lead to more hate and more terror from that part of the world.

Yes, that's obvious to most Americans. I expect that Bush knows this too. I mean, wasn't anyone listening to the Republican Party when they were going on and on about how they had to find a new enemy since the Cold War was over?

No?

The Republican Party has mainly represented the Military Industrial complex since WWII. The business of the Republican Party is to ensure that Wars will continue endlessly so that we need always have a large military and therefore, a lot of supplies and equipment for that military. That's your bottom line for the Republican Party, folks.

In light that we no longer had any credible enemy, Bush and Cheney have gone completely out of their way to kick over all of the sand castles on the playground in order to get enough focus for America to have new enemies. Wasn't anyone paying any attention to this?

Each military action that we have had since Bush took office always has Bush's hands deeply imprinted upon it. And why not? Bush's family is Big Oil and Big Oil plays very heavily into any military action. Its Big Profits for the Military-Industrial Complex and most certainly, Bush's family has been able to afford several new palaces with the profits that he made from Afghanistan.

Am I the only one paying attention to these little facts? Why does everyone seem to be ignoring the obvious: It is in Bush's Best Financial Interests to promote Wars. When War is at hand, Bush gets Richer. I see the Devil in that equation, but none of this supporters seem to see it and many of his detractors seem to oblivious to it as well!

So, stusi, the place that you are taking your line of questions is altogether wrong. I hope that you can now see that.

Borillar- The place you are taking your line of answers is altogether wrong. I am not particularly a Bush/Republican party supporter and I don't deny he has some self-serving interests. I was not specifically referring to defending our country on Iraqi soil, although I happen to support our position. I was posing a general question to you, Helen and others who can't seem to justify ANY preemptive strike against a terrorist nation or even our action in Afghanistan against AlQaeda.

Heck, Iraq should form the human shield volunteers into units and issue them rifles so they can shoot at our troops.

Why replace the words 'People of Iraq' with 'Sadam' or 'Osama'.

What's with you people, so against a verbal attack on Israel but to kill Muslims is OK.

What are you, all arms merchants or something.

You are a sick bunch, but I guess you're just a product of your society.
