Major companies and agencies are all setting up alternate sites.
Are we looking in 5 or 6 years at organizations spreading themselves in a network, just like the internet, designed to produce continuity in the face of attack?
Will the huge corporate brag headquarters to show off the wealth be a thing of the past?
Will the march away from urban centers and same industry clusters aided by tele-commuters be accelerated?

It would have huge implications for the real estate market and transportation and data service costs. It would further hurt the airlines that depend on people living in little clumps.
It would mean that after a small town attracted a certain number of industries they would reach a critical size that made them less attractive for another firm to come in.

That concept has been around for the last 10 to 15 years. many companies started doing it many years ago. Mirosoft uses the concept.
