It looks like they're closing in on Scott Peterson, but I still wonder if they have enough evidence yet because they've been so quiet about things. As far as I know, there are no other suspects or other avenue's they're pursuing and all the attention seems focused on him. Do you think they have enough to make an arrest?

People have been and continue to be arrested with less evidence. Anyone can be arrested for anything and held 48 hours before charges are filed.

Nothing "new" has been reported other that the fact that the police searched his house & truck again & removed 100 or so items.

Proving his guilt may be another matter. Without her dead body or evidence of massive blood loss matching her DNA, I believe he will not be charged anytime soon.

Unfortunately, people have been convicted of Capital Murder, even though no body was ever discovered. All the Prosecution has to do is to come up with a reasonable stopry to cover the facts and the mob will jump for joy at pulling the switch to execute the accused. Yep. In this country, our system of justice is so corruptted that one wonders about every single arrest that they make.

Bear there was a conviction about two years ago here in San Diego of a murder with no body. Fool ex husband told everyone and their mother he would someday get rid of his ex wife and drop her body in the ocean where no one would ever find her. Sure enough, she disappears and he does a lousy clean up job - I don't remember if it was a receipt or her purse that was found on his boat shortly after she disappeared. He was convicted of First Degree murder. If you remember last seasons Law and Order that showed real cases from the prosecutions POV, the first show was about that case.

Bor - lets look at the storyline here

* Husband goes fishing alone on Chritmas leaving pregnant wife alone.
* Denies, Denies, Denies afairs or wrong doings.... OOOPS - mistres goes to the press.
* Refuses to co-operate with police.
* Buy large insurance policy on her but not himself
* Tries to self their house shortly after her disppearance
* Does sell her car shortly after her disappearance.

Personally I think he should be shot on general principle. If he isn't a murderer he's certainly still too stupid and clueless to live.

I'd say the police have shown great restraint.

neon, I thought I heard the insurance policy was for both of them, not just her. (??)

It's still all circumstancial. I heard speculation that maybe the police didn't have enough evidence, so they went back to the house to look for some but that doesn't make sense to me unless they already have something on him.

Did the police use luminol in the house or the car & boat? Anyone know?

Kraft - his policy was a couple years old, hers was purchased in the six months prior but when asked about the existance of a policy on her, he denied their being one initially.

He seems to have a real memory problem.
Told Fry he was single
Told police he was not having an afair.
Told Diane Saawyer he told police on the first day that he was having an afair
Told press and Laci's fmily he was not having afair.
Admitted to affair after Mistress appeared at new conference

Since he has made a big deal about both vehicles being frequently used and him working on a farm and constant cuts and bleeding in the trucks I'd say that they have definately found blood evidence in one of the trucks.

Thanks for explaining about the insurance neon. Yes, I've also heard about all the cuts he gets in his line of work, like he's a razor blade salesman or something! When was the last time you bled all over your car?

I visited the Laci Peterson site (very depressing) and some of the people that signed the guest book had written about their theories. One suggested that big farms make up vats of chemical fertilizers that would burn a body quickly. Is that true? One of the reasons why I ask, is because to me, Scott Peterson acts like he's confident no body will be found (my opinion only).

If the fertilizer will eat thru bones I can't imagine it's all that great for crop : ) All kidding aside - I donn't know.

I think he dumped her in the ocean, investigators were depending on his accounts of where he was when they did their search and considering all that he has lied about so far, it's not a big stretch that he lied about this too.
