Video monitor maker sending work to China
“We pay $16 an hour, and Asians pay $1.50 an hour,” Sadler said. “They’ve copied some of our airline products down to the dimension of the product, and they sell it for less than I can assemble it for.”

Dotronix will still do OK but there are another 360 Unemployed to come.
That’s capitalism. That’s a ‘free’ market.
Similarly, US oil production costs are far higher than the more ‘competitive’ Middle East.
The competitive edge will soon be temporarily lost.
Not that it’s a motive for dumya to attack. Just a fringe benefit.
He transcends petty self-interest motives. I’m sure that his heart will be broken too, Just like Dotronix’s president, William Sadler.
“Much of its work now is performed by subcontractors in China, who can do it much cheaper, said Dotronix President William Sadler.”
Just as major US petrol suppliers buy cheaper oil from Middle east.
“They’ve copied some of our airline products down to the dimension of the product,”
If the reason is as he’s implied, that of product imitation (assuming Dotronix has patents) then there are laws to prevent their sale in USA and he’s not using them or he’s incorrect to claim that they ‘copied’ the products..
They go where the profit is, there is no allegiance, and there is no Patriotism. Just collateral damage when gains are in sight.
