No problem here. I'm THRILLED to hear the good news. Over 420 A-Q and Taliban suspects handed over to the US by the Pakistani's alone. We ARE making progress.

I just hope that if he is brought to trial in the US he gets the death penalty.
It would be a horrible mistake if he gets life like the ones that bombed the WTC center the first time.

One has to wonder how they managed it. After all, Pakistan is home to the Al-Queda. This "lieutenant" must have pizzed off someone over there, how else would he be allowed to walk freely for over a year there and suddenly get captured? Think about how TOTAL the Al-Queda population is there in Pakistan.
It has been the Bush mode of the past to clearly exaggerate the importance of captured suspects. While it is nice to think that we have indeed captured this person, will he in following weeks prove to be just another low-level jerk who pizzed off some higher up who got rid of him? I mean, I'm sorry to douse your fire with this thought, but honestly, as much of a liar as this administration is and their continuous over-exaggeration of the importance of suspects captured, I'[m going to reserve my opinion for later confirmation. I've been disappointed time after time after time with reports of "success" by this failed administration. Wait and see!

Pakistan has made it clear that "they" captured him not the United States. Seems they're getting tired of this administration and the CIA taking credit where credit isn't due.

Pakistan Detains Alleged Key 9/11 Planner
Speaking to VOA, Pakistani interior minister Faisal Saleh Hayat denied reports that American FBI agents also took part in Saturday's arrests.
"No, FBI is not involved in these arrests. We have our own system of surveillance, of information sharing with different agencies," he said. "And this was one of those operations which was conducted as per our own information and our own intelligence sources."

Helen,
Who cares who arrested him...they are our allies and I'm sure we don't want to step on their toes. BUT it is very unlikely they would have done so if we didn't have a prescence over there.
From the original article:
"Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf has been an important ally in the U.S.-led war on terror, but has said that only a small number of FBI agents are operating in Pakistan and only to provide intelligence on suspected al Qaeda or Taliban fugitives from neighboring Afghanistan.
However, Pakistani police and intelligence officials say FBI agents have been involved in nearly every important terror arrest in Pakistan since the war on terrorism began. The Pakistani government says it has handed over more than 420 al Qaeda and Taliban suspects to U.S. custody."

bones Who cares who arrested him? I agree totally...it doesn't matter.
I certainly can understand why their government wouldn't want it to look like we have too much of a presence in their country. And it wouldn't matter to me if their leaders took full credit for this capture. That it has happened is what's important.
That Pakistan has allowed any of our intelligence people to be there is a great step forward.

It was announced today that the Bush administartion had discovered a cure for cancer.
"They had nothing to do with it".
"Cancer isn't that big of a deal".
"France and Germany have a better idea about how to fight cancer".
"I'd rather have cancer than to use a cure discovered by the Bush administartion".
"They probably found the cure by paying off doctors and bugging tumors".

Linda, if no one points out these little discrepancies you and the Bushies would never know the lies and exaggerations that the administration tries to pull over on you. We're here to help you understand.
As usual the Bush gang is back pedaling this morning and now giving the credit to Pakistan. What else could they do after the facts came out?

The "Bush gang" is kicking ass and taking names. No terrorist attacks on US soil since 9/11. Osama is afraid to show his face on tv, if he isn't dead already. It sounds like the terrorists are either dead, caught, or on the run and they probably don't sleep well at night.
I'm VERY impressed that there have been no terrorist attacks on US soil since 9/11. All it takes is a small amount of explosives or a gun to kill several people in a public place. But not a single incident.
Thanks to John Ashcroft, we've probably got a few hundred terrorists in US jails (to the dismay of liberals).
We're gettin'em!

'chococake' doesn't want to give credit to Bush for catching the 9/11 mastermind. The fact that Pakistan caught him for us and they are handing him to us is a huge accomplishment by the Bush Administration.
Bush forced Pakistan to choose sides and Pakistan chose ours. If Bush didn't light a fire under their rear ends, why would they risk the wrath of terrorists and radicals in their own country?
I doubt that if President Al Gore asked Pakistan 'pretty please' to catch terrorists for us, that they risk their hides and do so.

chococake - if no one points out these little discrepancies you and the Bushies would never know the lies and exaggerations that the administration tries to pull over on you. We're here to help you understand. You're very funny.
Unlike you, I'm thrilled that Bush has put the effort he has into this 'war on terrorism' that you all keep saying has failed. Being forced to see that you are wrong must be very disheartening. You hope it fails even if it's against your countries best interest, just so you can have you little bit of 'fun' while doing so. This isn't about Bush to me....this is about our national interests.
I do give credit where credit is due. President Bush and his goal to seek out the terrorists, in all countries, one by one [as he has stated] is working.

chococake, they understand perfectly well. They don't need us to explain anything to them. Face the facts that they actually want to live in an America that is a Police State and where War is Peace and Big Brother is looking over your shoulder every moment and watching every purchase you make and where you go and what you do once you get there. For them, that is Security. They can't stand the fact that WE don't like it that way, so they want to FORCE all Americans to live the same way that they want to. They do this on purpose, this nonsense that they write. They do it to derail the thread by engaging you in explaining yourself - which they absolutely couldn't care less about, I assure you that its true. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so why bother to respond to their nonsense when they know what the deal is? When they make statements that are personal attacks, complain to AW about it.

No, Borillar they aren't really personal attacks on me. They are the usual attacks on "us", because we don't buy the BS this administration wants us to believe.
Even if it were a personal attack I wouldn't complain to AW. I think their ludicrous remarks need to be right here in black and white for all to read.

They caught a dead man? Last Oct. the same guy was killed, then care was taken to have his own family identify his body, and then he was buried under FBI supervision. They all wanted to make sure they had got the guy, and the same political hay was made at that time. Now he's resurrected? Or is this one of those "They all look the same" things?

It figures. It's just another political Lie to make certain exciteable elements of society jump up and down for joy at how well their government is working for them and at the same time, totally blank out and ignore this turn of events. To their minds, Bush is doing a GREAT JOB on the War on Terrorism!
