President Gore........oh please...just the thought makes me ill. He hasn't stopped re-inventing himself yet. Can't imagine how he'd be flip-floping around the issues this country is faced with.

I'll never forget the debates old Al had with Bush. It was like "Will the REAL Al Gore Please Stand Up". On each one he had a different demeanor, mannerisms, and voice structure. Like you said, just trying to re-invent himself hoping he'd find one that would catch on. Instead, it was just comical. Can you imagine that action on the world stage?! On the other hand, I guess Saddam would have been kept guessing.

bones, I thought it was pretty pathetic when they tried to make Gore look like Ronald Reagan at one of the debates. The hairstyle and make-up were obvious.

It has finally dawned on me what is going on here.
Bring up Clinton in every thread, when that doesnt work,Then the what ifs, of a Gore Presidency.
That way, the real world doesnt affect any of you,You run from the reailty of everyday life.
One day you'll have to wake up,That day is soon.
And as far as ANYONE" else serving as President,I would hope that their words of comfort, would be more then,Go shopping,as the masses, were told after the World Trade center attacks.
I would also hope, that if there was an agency in place for the public safety and security,at a cost of 200 Billion plus,That the agency, would be able to give me more safety information, then to go out and buy plastic sheeting and duck tape.
But of course I might be asking too much from a sitting President,Because I would expect him to be intelligent, and have compassion for all.
I hear about slick Willys wanker,as the put down for anyone that is considered of the left side.
Im glad slick Willy had a working wanker,Now I can wonder if George W. is trying to over compensate, for a non-working wanker.
All the domestic, and economic problems are on your back burners.I suggest you make yourselves safe, with a turn down as bad as this one, robberys at gun point are an all time high, also home invasions.Anything left in your front or back yard will be fair game, such as mowers, bikes, yard tools, cars.
Laugh if you wish,at least you read this.

junquemama,
Respectfully, I feel that we are FINALLY facing the Real World. I personally feel that Clinton is the REASON for a lot of our problems. George Bush is having to clean up the mess. I don't expect you to agree or to convince you.
I live in Arkansas and have more background in having watched this man for many years. He was Attorney General here and then Governor for what seemed like forever. Those of you who loathed the man for eight years, can you imagine twenty? He did very little for this state. It was just a springboard.

bones21,.....George W, was our Governor,I can say the same, except our Gov..
Put 120 people to their death from death row.

I respect your views junquemama.
(My views on the death penalty are mixed...)
This board is great and hopefully all of us will keep an open mind on things. Sometimes I might even have mine slightly "changed", although I am a little set in my ways.
Hey, maybe ALL the current politicians are the problem. We should probably just vote EVERY ONE of them out and start over!

"I personally feel that Clinton is the REASON for a lot of our problems."
Are you whacked? Even if I liked Mr. Bush and his cronies the facts are that since he took power the economy has gone into the toilet and we are at war? Instead of budget surplusses there are huge deficits.
Are you giving Mr. Clinton that much credit that he knew how to time such drastic changes in the entire world?
When you make statements like that you only show how truly ignorant you are.
Mr. Clinton has many good and bad qualities about himself and his presidency, as does Mr. Bush, but geez, give me his eight years any friggin time over what we have now.

"truly ignorant", huh?
I wish I had been truly ignorant those eight years.
"Bush and his cronies".
Well, they're like adults compared to the party atmosphere at the White House under the previouse administration.
Clinton benefited from all the money spent during the Reagan and Bush years. He basically coasted during his presidency. And the economic downturn we are experiencing is a result of a number of factors going back many years, one of which was the "irrational exuberience" of the '90s (I don't blame that on Clinton, I blame it on the Wall Street marketers and ignorance/greed on the part of mainly neophyte investors). The economy has been a house of cards for a long time and Clinton got out just in time. Al Gore would have experienced the same fate with it as Bush. It was just a timing thing, much like Herbert Hoover had experienced.
No, Clinton did a lot of things that were to our detriment which I don't have time to enumerate in this thread at the moment. Many we will never know about fully. He was buddy/buddy with Red China to the point of, well I won't say it. Most of the few accomplishments he did have were originally Republican ideas anyway.
Mr. Clinton is a VERY brilliant man and a master politician I will give you that.

On your comments earlier in the thread: Well said!!!

George Bush is having to clean up the mess.
If this is GW's idea of cleaning up a mess, I suggest he stay not only out of the kitchen, but the rest of the house as well. My son does a better job of cleaning up a mess and that's not saying much.
We should probably just vote EVERY ONE of them out and start over!

I haven't had much time lately and it doesn't look like I will for a while...just barely time to pop in for 5 minutes or so each day and keep up with the fun. I have 55 pregnant ewes who will be ready to pop in another month or so and they all need almost daily tending at this point in time.Add to that 2 lame horses who have to be walked every day and our foreman who's been here since I was a kid is in the hospital. As soon as I get home from work it's out to the pasture with the dogs. When lambing time comes it'll be twice as hard...but it keeps me out of the bar!
Thanks for asking

Reading how Bush is handling this "mess" with Iraq is scary enough. I wonder how he's going to handle the "mess" with Korea threatening (in a round-a-bout way} to blow the world to smithereens should we start the same crap with them? Here's a question I wish someone could answer. . .if Bush (and it looks like this is the case) intends to go after Iraq no matter what they do, how can he expect Hussein to destroy all his weapons? Is he nuts? Let's say you are Hussein (no insults intended) and you are faced with this situation: Destroy your weapons or get blown up. Destroy your weapons and get blown up anyway.
What would you do? Would YOU destroy all of your weapons so you couldn't defend yourself or keep on hiding them. I'm willing to bet it would be the latter. No one is going to win in this situation. NO ONE!!!
Is this going to be the war that ends all wars? This old '60's peace loving anit-war hippie, hopes not. I dislike Hussein as much as the next American, but I love the American people more and I love my children even more than that. Bush's hatred for the man that humiliated his father just may land us all in front of St. Peter.
I wasn't scared during Vietnam and wasn't even scared during the Gulf War. The Cuban Missle Crisis? Thankfully, I was too young to know what was going on. But of this, I am scared and think everyone else should be, too. I could take a little Al Gore for President about now.

junquemama...thanks, We'll be ok, my son isn't old enough to be much help with a ewe who's in a jamb, but my girls, who are in high school out of state, are already figuring out how they can come and help with the lambing. I'll try to post pic's of the new arrivals..
