Those inclined to disbelieve the existence of a link between Iraq & Al-Qaida might consider reading up on Salman Pak, a military training facility 21 miles from Baghdad.
UN inspectors and Iraqi defectors have described the fuselage of a Boing 707 located there (It's not an airfield) which was used for "counter-terrorist" training, according to Iraqi Police. Eyewitnesses accounts say Islamic extremists at Salman Pak were trained to hijack a plane using only knives.
Sound familiar?
This is an interesting story in that both the media and the administration have laid off discussing it in any great detail - not confirming or denying it.
It's not a new story, either; I first heard about Salman Pak last September.
Has anyone found an official US government comment or position regarding Salman Pak?

Photos were shown on one of the networks. Not sure which or who was speaking.

Thanks for the links, Colin.
I have seen many accounts referring to Salman Pak - even the US State Department's site mentions the Boeing fuselage and terrorist training there.
A few months back, Rush Limbaugh publicly questioned the White House for not making Salman Pak an issue in order to increase public support for regime change in Iraq.
After Bush's press conference on Thursday, CNN had the retired Air Force leader of the air war against Iraq in 1991 (Glossom,I think his name is)and he referred to a terrorist training camp near Baghdad with a Boeing 707 fuselage.
I understand the need for protection of intel sources, but this thing is so out in the open, you'd think SOMEONE - either the media or the White House - would be all over it . . .

Reports of a link are all over the internet. Here's a recent one.

UNITED NATIONS (CNN) -- The regime of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein for years has consorted with the al Qaeda terrorist network, often using as a go-between a shadowy figure who set up a training camp in northeast Iraq, Secretary of State Colin Powell said Wednesday.
