What do you call anti-war protesters that can not accept democractic processes and in their protest feel it is their right to destroy property ?

I call them commies, anarchists, and idiots. If they do not fall into the first two categories, they must be in the last.

I couldn't get your page to load REAMOND but these type of anti-war protesters give the ones that really care for their country, a bad name. There's always extremes.

Where were the anti-war protesters that "really care for their country" while this part of the group did this ?

Why didn't they try to stop them? Why don't they stop associating at protestes with this type of people ?

It kinda reminds me of the muslims that indirectly support terrorists or won't denounce them or take active measures to uncover the terrorists, but don't feel they're really accountable or responsible for what the terrorists do.

How very sad. These actions are un-excuseable and these people should be arrested. I hope the property owner presses charges.

They have no right to destroy anything that is not their's.

"For this to be vandalism, there had to be an ill-will intent" Well if destroying something that doesn't belong to you isn't ill-will intent, I don't know what would be. Was their intent good? What a stupid statement that way.

By JAMES TARANTO - WSJ writer

'Antiwar' Is Anti-American

On this semianniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks--they happened 18 months ago today--a story from La Habra, Calif., tells you all you need to know about the "antiwar" movement. The Whittier Daily News reports: [here he quotes the article], and then goes on to say:

One Les Howard, a sociology professor at Whittier College tells the news that, as the paper puts it, "the incident might be an indication of some confusion among people trying to stop a possible war against Iraq but uncertain how to express their sentiments." Leave it to a sociology prof to explain away an act of pure hatred as the work of well-intentioned but mixed-up folks.

"They trashed 87 flags, ripped 11 memorial tiles made by myself and my children out of the ground and glued the Bob Dylan song to a sign that said, 'America, land of the brave, home of the free,' ' she said.

Bob Dylan's song, With God On Our Side

last stanza....

So now as I'm leavin'
I'm weary as Hell
The confusion I'm feelin'
Ain't no tongue can tell
The words fill my head
And fall to the floor
If God's on our side
He'll stop the next war.

Les Howard, a sociology professor at Whittier College, said the incident might be an indication of some confusion among people trying to stop a possible war against Iraq but uncertain how to express their sentiments. However, he said he does not condone the destruction of symbols important to those who erect them.

"Some think (the best way to support the troops) is to not question their role. Some think the best way is to pursue all means possible to avoid putting them in danger,' he said. "That still does not excuse any desecration of people's symbolic participation.'

So the bushies revive Cointelpro, who's surprised?

Why did the police simply stand by and watch while this went on? They were protecting the agitators; they knew they were coming; they had been instructed to lay off...

What a devious organization! I hope we don't have any of those shifty agents here.
LOL!

I've wondered about the exaggerated focus on peace marches.

Hey guys, I agree!

We CAN do something about it. As simple as emailing the owner of the RV place! I did a search online for his name and "RV" and found his company's website! The article indicated he was considering filing a complaint against those who did this.

I pulled up a California map and confirmed that LaHabra is near both Whittier and Rowland Heights, outside of Los Angeles (just to make sure I had the right person).

The article said, in part:

Rees said in order for police to take any action, the owner of the fence would have to file a complaint.

Jeff Collison, owner of The RV Center in La Habra, who has allowed residents to add patriotic symbols to the fence on his property, said he just might do that.

Here's the RV company's website that I easily found. Jeff's email is at the bottom of the page. Please if you email him, be polite in your encouragement to not let this unwarranted act go.

Good luck,
Patty

I wonder....

What if these were trucked in neo-conservatives to discredit the Peace organizations? I noticed that there are no pictures of the protestors, or footage of the destruction where the perpetrators could be identified.

Just playing devil's advocate......

I mean I figure that the War groups would have loved to have plastered the pictures all over every news site they could....unless they didn't want these individuals indentified?!?

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both boldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."

meadowlark - Wanted to thank you for posting the link to the RV owners place of business. We emailed encouraging him to file charges against the people who destroyed this display. We also have mailed the url to everyone on our email list...and are sure they are doing the same. Still being discussed on the news this morning....hope something is done about it.

Anyway...thanks for making it ever so easy to do so.

Hello everyone!

I saw on Fox News this morning that the police will investigate it.

It's funny the anti-war demonstrators nationwide and to include abroad, use violence to fight violence.

Also Fox news also mentioned this morning the the financial backers for the protests are funded by certain groups that have shady reputations. One report is that it is possible the North Koreans may be helping to fund the protests. If this is true why don't they use that money to buy food for their people instead of expecting the US to provide the welfare?

See ya later!

Hi clarksville - Long time no see.
Good to see you here.

Yes, I saw that list on Fox News this morning too. They listed the anti-war organizers and then stated who's funding them. On the one group they did state they 'believed' it was being funded by North Korea, the others they reported could be proved. Wish they left the list up longer, I would have written it down. But it did have many of the anti-war organizers group names that I have previously posted here about. No one believes it, because they don't want to or they don't care. They could check it out for themselves but it's so much easier to just deny it.

Comrade Mlecher... I know that being a good party member is your primary concern, but you have to remember that NKorea is a COMMUNIST Country... so why would some of us dislike it when an anti-American group destroys our flag?

Wouldn't that make us Anti-Communist?... come on think... I know you have at least one coherent thought left...

Religion: All religion has been effectively prohibited since the 1950s

Is that enough proof that NKorea is Communist?

Incorrect. Two million have starved in last couple of years, so only 22 million.

You may not think USA has characteristics typical of any communist country, but here are some statistics to show you that some characteristics are just as crapy or worse.

"'Third Worldization' of America. The infant mortality rate for African Americans now stands at 17.7 infant deaths per 1,000 live births. This figure compares unfavorably not only to those for most other industrial countries but even to figures for some of the developing countries of the Caribbean, such as Jamaica (17.2 per 1,000), Trinidad (16.3), and Cuba (16)."

"United States, a congressional study asserted, had become 'the most unequal of modern nations.' Some 20 million Americans were said to be experiencing hunger; 25 million of them - some one in every 10 - were receiving federal food stamps. The child poverty rate, which had risen from 18 per cent in 1980 to 22 percent in 1991, was the highest among the industrialized countries. Among children in minority groups, the poverty rate was even higher, at almost 50 per cent."
http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Third_World_US/ThirdWorUS_DarkVic.html

Is the PNAC and 'hawks' and others on the 'right' concerned for the US People? Their actions show they are only interested in their own a$$-ets.

Distruction of 'symbols' is trivial, when view in the context of current events, but the 'right' want to use 'vandalism' as a means of discrediting those who are concerned for humanity, how does that negate the validity of their statements or actions.
It doesn't it just clouds their arguments by accusations of being unpatriotic.
Perhaps a letter to their local member of parliment would have been effective in raising their voice. It's quite obvious that DRumsfeld and some other warmongers will not stop beating, and sabotaging, hushing, objecters, regardlsess.

If you think that a symbol is more important than the people it is meant to 'symbolise' then you have lost the plot.

Also, is it fair to say that any sign on a wire fence with reference to 9/11 is a 'memorial'.
