Thanks to insomnia I was graced this morning by one of the best comedy acts seen in a long time. Katy Couric and the Today show welcomed an Iraqi comedian disguised as the Iraqi Embassador.

Included in his schtick....

An insistance that of course Saddam is alive and well and in control - We did afterall see him live on TV just last night.

The chemical plant found yesterday was not claimed to UN inspectors because it does not exist, it is merely US propaganda. If it does exist, we must have planted it.

He also did a pretty little jig as he danced around questions regarding why Saddam commended commanders of two units that had surrendered days ago and failed to mention the prisoners of war or a day of battle that went favorably for his side.

He was almost as humorous as the Iraqi pesant with rifle in hands being interviewed on Iraqi TV about his shooting down of an Apache helicopter with said rifle.

Glad you found some humor this morning. Heaven knows we all need the ability to find humor where ever we can find it.

For me personally, the statement The chemical plant found yesterday was not claimed to UN inspectors because it does not exist, it is merely US propaganda. If it does exist, we must have planted it might have been funny if so many American's weren't so quick to believe statements like these.

This example was of a building...pretty hard for us to have put together so quickly. But you know some comments HAVE been made here, on these threads, about IF the US doesn't find chemical/bio weapons then the US would most likely plant them. And then you ask me not to see these type of statements as anti-American.

That's why I don't see the same humor in this Iraqi representative's statements. Too many American's are too quick to believe them.

Linda - I am the first to admit that I have a higly developed sense of Irony and Sarcasm.

Life will be much less troublesome for you if you take a simple sentiment to heart.
Do not suffer the fools.

I don't know if you caught the actual speech last night but if you did, and you then watch the interview with the embassador you would have seen clearly how laughable his performance was. His propaganda delivery skills leave much to be desired.

Linda K is right, but it's not just appeasers here in America that will believe it. The "world" that so many appeasers point to as being against the US actions in Iraq, will undoubtably take such fantasies as fact. The muslim world will certainly claim it as fact, and there will probably be a French best selling book detailing these "facts" in short order.
