I watched some great footage of Kurds in northern Iraq today on CNN who have been staying in their caves until the threat from Saddam is gone.
These are Saddam's countrymen, 5000 of whom were killed in a chemical weapon attack he ordered against men, women, and children.
As a result of the US involvement in the liberation of Kuwait, they quickly realized who the good force in this world is.
The family in the cave named one of their 12 children "Kurdistan", their youngest son "Dick Cheney", and they plan to name their next male child "George Bush."

I'm sure when the Turks sweep through and create a "buffer" state that will protect the kids.

Hi gravid -
Let's say for the sake of argument they did.
Would that be any worse than how Saddam treated the kurds?
Personally, I don't believe there will be any problem with the Turks. The US has promised to protect the sovereignty of Iraq, and I'm pretty sure Turkey understands we will do so.
