Received this email this morning from friend of mine. Disclaimer: I do not know who wrote it; the name at the bottom is the supposed author of the last part...
Military Rules for the Non-Military Personnel
Dear Civilians,
We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation have many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas we
would like your assistance:
1) The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem ... kick their azz.
2) When you witness firsthand someone burning the American Flag in protest... kick their azz.
3) Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these Veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these Veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a Disabled Veteran kicks their azz.
4) (GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDU's), telling others that you used to be "Special Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay if you were still seven. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get
your azz kicked.
5) Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, "Do you fly a jet?" Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an azz kicking (children are exempt).
6) If you witness someone calling the U.S. Coast Guard non military, inform them of their mistake...and kick their azz.
7) Roseanne Barr's singing of the National Anthem is not a blooper...it was a disgrace and disrespectful. Laugh, and sooner or later your azz will be kicked.
8) Next time Old Glory (U.S. flag) prances by during a parade, get on your d!mn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart.
Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her...of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe azz kicking.
9) What Jane Fonda did during the Vietnam War makes her the enemy. The proper word to describe her is "traitor." Just mention her nomination for "Woman of the Year" and get your azz kicked.
10) Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We are Americans and we all bleed the same regardless of our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command, is to include our commander in Chief. The President (for those who didn't know) is our CIC regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important
buildings where all those representatives meet. All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. The military member might direct you to Oliver North. (I can see him kicking your azz already.)
11) "Your mama wears combat boots" never made sense to me ... stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore, could kick your azz!
12) Bin Laden and the Taliban are not communists, so stop saying "Let's go kill those Commie's!!!" And stop asking us where he is!!!! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me ... if you see anyone calling those d!mn psychic phone numbers; let me know, so I can go kick their azz.
13) Flyboy (Air Force), Jar Head (Marines), Grunt (Army), Squid (Navy) etc, are terms of endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. That
could get your azz kicked.
14) Last but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of sailors and troops far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get its azz kicked.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
- It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
- It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

Kinda funny, but, mainly arrogant and generally WRONG.
The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem
Ought to shake up a few women, they are allowed to keep their hats on.
When you witness firsthand someone burning the American Flag in protest.
So much for they Bill of Rights and Constitution. Saddam would be proud of you!
Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans
Including Lt. Calley? and a few others?
Roseanne Barr's singing of the National Anthem is not a blooper...it was a disgrace and disrespectful
Well, I agree, but wasn't she covered under some "Save the Whales" clause?
Our Chain of Command, is to include our commander in Chief.
So incorrect and stupid. That would only be true in a Military Dictatorship, like they used to have in Iraq. Unless Bush and Saddam have traded minds, he is the CIC of the MILITARY. To the American public he is an employee, a civil servant if you will. And a temp at that. In a TRUE Democracy(there's that word that grates you all so much) the President is supposed to listen and obey us. What happened?
The entire article was obviously written by a Lifer who needs to get out more. The military has become HIS life and HIS compass. Do not apply it to the rest of the FREE population who contribute to his paycheck.
"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword. It both boldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind. And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed, the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry. Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so. How do I know? For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."

mlecher, your true demcaracy runs to socialism, so you really don't know what a true democracy is.... and for someone that supposedly retired from the military your hatred of it sure is surprising...
Once again you are confusing I have the "right" to "Should" I...
Seems like people want to express all kinds of "rights" but are not willing to accept the consequences... or put forth any sacrifice to freely speak; In which case their words mean absolutely nothing...
You have lots of rights here, but if I see you buring the flag... I will put a stop to it unless it is in your own yard preferably on your living room floor...

What part of the Bill of Rights says that I can not kick your azz for burning the flag ?
The Bills of Rights defines your rights as to your relationship with the government and not relationships between private citizens.
If you're saying something I don't like, and I belt you in the mouth, do you really think you have an action at law for denying you freedom of speech ? Assault and battery perhaps, but the Bill of Rights would not apply.
We do not live in a "democracy" and never have. We do however live in a democratic republic, which means that the elected official uses his best judgement as to what to do and is not bound by any public sentiments except at election time.
I am always amazed at the number of adults that are unaware of our form of government and how the constitution applies.

How easy you assume the other fellows azz will be so easy to kick. There are many folks who never went through military indoctrination who are still not some weakling sissy you want to grab and yell at if they don't act as respectful as you think they should to your ego inflated self.

I got that e-mail ages ago.
It was titled “Saddam’s Rules for Non-Military Personnel”
So harsh, no wonder he was so widely disrespected.
Some of the words in your e-mail have been changed. Iraq-America etc.
