Tonight I logged off so we could watch the first, in a four part series, on this subject. PBS is doing a 4 part series on WOMD and how very serious the problem is for our world....especially in the hands of terrorists.
This first part was really informative. Spoke of which countries have these weapons, how some countries have used them, spoke to the issue of disarmament...etc. Gave examples of how destructive these weapons are. Discussed smalll pox. All the things we discuss here.
If you get a chance to watch a re-run of this first program please do so. I don't think anyone will be disappointed. No matter which side of the war issue you're on. I have no idea what the next three series are going to discuss, but I really wish everyone could have seen this one.
The second part will be on PBS next Tues. at 8:00 PM CST

Thanks Linda. I've watched these types of shows before and I always want to start living in the basement after.

KD - I know what you mean. The reality is overwhelming to think about at times. But it is something we must face and find ways to deal with. We must come up with some sort of answer if we as a world are going so survive together.
During most of my life we, as a nation, have faced/felt threats from other countries. Each side 'puffed' up their chests to try and make the other think they were the most powerful....to avoid 'going over the line'. But in the back of the leaders minds was always the thought of what using these weapons would mean to our world. And therein lies my biggest problem with the terrorists. They don't have that same fear of taking millions of lives. They don't have the fear of dying themselves....they are going to be rewarded for doing just that. We've not had to deal with that 'mind think' before. And now we must.
One thing in tonight's program I learned was that some countries have agreements with one another to do 'inspections' of other countries weapons. Checking up on each other...so to say. Of course, you have the countries that didnt' agree to have these 'mutual' inspections. Anyway...I wasn't aware that was being done.

Hello, this is my first post here and I am still not sure about using Vendio, but after reading the first message here, I went to PBS.org. Of course there is alot of information there about this series. Click on the LAUNCH FLASH PRIMER and you will see a map that allows you to click on the different countries, then lets you read a bit about what they have with each of the three weapons of mass destruction: Chemical, Nuclear, and Biological. very good presentation. http://www.pbs.org/avoidingarmageddon/learnTheFacts/learn_02.html
Thank you for listing this subject here. I wouldn't have known about this otherwise.
P.S. If using Vendio has helped promote your site to other parts of the web, please let me know (and increased your sales)
Thank you all
Patricia

Let me be the 1st to welcome you.
It may be the last chance for niceties that we have.
May your sales too increase, but ten fold.
We debate, well,,,, argue but you will rarely see anyone sway on any significant issue.
But I think it’s good if we only raise a doubt.
Not very nice, but funny, let me also introduce you to twelvepole, he’ll be making some profane attacks very soon.
I think he’s one of the extreme right here.

welcome trishaschoices4u!!
It's a very eclectic group here, as you can see
Twelvepole and colin are two great guys - very down to earth, patriotic Americans
Oh, and there's a Village Idiot or two running around, but you will be able to identify them soon (if you haven't already)

To make a link clickable, should you want to, just use this code: [url$]http://www.pbs.org/avoidingarmageddon/learnTheFacts/learn_02.html[/url] then leave out the $ sign.

Thanks for all the WELCOMES! I understand about watching which message board I choose to hang around. I read one where people really had some problems with each other, but I am just here right now to figure out how to increase sales without lowering my prices to 0! haha! And thank you Linda for the tidbit concerning making a URL clickable. I hope it works when I do it---http://home.attbi.com/~filmheavenonearth/wsb/html/view.cgi-home.heml-.html(/url)
Patricia
PS I tried to get my link to work and as you can see, it has been futile so far...!

Yes! Yes! By golly, I've got it!! Thank you thank you, I mean it really will help because it is always nicer to have an actually link rather than people needing to copy and paste.
Go take a look NOW.....
Ok, now can you get my clothes to sell, too??
