No, not what you think!

I'm finally up to here in all those pillows! When I look at TV or movies, when there are scenes in beds (and also in ads for bedding, like on QVC etc.), they are always heaped with pillows.

I understand that some folks consider 15 or so pillows on a bed that's MADE good decorating. I myself have always thought that the more you have piled on the bed, the more you have to remove and then put back, evening and morning. But to each his own.

Tonight I was watching an old Golden Girls show; two of them were having a pajama party and had pulled up the covers to go to sleep. They each had about 3 big pillows under their heads.

Does anyone REALLY sleep on that many? I mean, who isn't recovering from surgery or something? Isn't that bad for neck and upper back? Am I the only person who has always felt that was contrived?

Perhaps they do that so that, even in bed, the stars' heads and faces are visible for the camera?

I know this is a very minor thing, but seeing Dorothy and Blanche propped up like that on the pillows this evening reminded me that I've always wanted to ask about this. . . .

When our bed is made, we have a total of 10 pillows on it. Graduating sizes. Six match out comforter and bed skirt....four we use to sleep with. No neck or back problems so far. He sleeps on his side and uses one for his head and one to snuggle with. I sleep on my stomach and use both under my head...to prop me up so I don't smush anything.

We have two chairs in our bedroom and when we're ready to hit the sack, we just toss them on the chairs. On the making the bed up everyday...we don't. We live out in the country and nobody just 'drops by'. Too far to come without being sure we're home. So there's always time to get the comforter and pillows on the bed.

On the three pillows the Golden Girl's were using, I'd bet you're right...it's for the camera to get a better angle.

I think when you're old, you have to sleep with your head propped up or you'll suffocate.

I'm ancient then, I use three, behind the three is a long 'body' pillow. Couldn't sleep any other way

Okeydoke, then! I guess we're the odd ones here. I stand corrected. (Maybe sometime I'll try that body pillow idea.)

Linda, I too sleep on my side. I snuggle up to my wife. You really need to talk to your hubby about snuggling up to that pillow.

LOL bear - We tried that when we were first married...neither of us ever got any sleep.

We have friends who are snugglers....their bodies are intertwined all night long. When one moves the other one does too. Doesn't seem to interfere with their sleep at all. If we wake each other up....we're up...no matter what time of day or night it is.

You're lucky it's worked for you and your wife. That's really nice.
