About $400+ a month. I have a teenage son at home, which should explain that. I haven't seen where my bill has come down. I am taking advantage of double and triple coupon deals though.

We spend about 300 a month, maybe more depending on who's visiting at any given time. We don't buy beef or lamb as we raise our own but as we don't raise hogs we have to get pork and above all bacon at the store. Yesterday I was in the grocery store in town and while getting bacon I noticed that a lot of the high end beef cuts were on "manager's special" for half off. This wasn't old meat as the butcher was out in the aisle restocking the bins with fresh packages. We're talking about 1 1/2" thick ribeyes, new yorks and filets for 3.99 a pound!! I asked the butcher about it and he said nobody's buying the expensive cuts anymore...times are too tough. My wife noticed the same thing at a different market also. Other than that I don't see much change, but maybe we're eating better and just haven't noticed.

Like I said it depends on who's visiting, and there's almost always somebody here. We go thru a fair amount of food and beverage on workers, too. Around here, if you have a guy come all the way out and do a job for you, say running a dozer on a stock pond berm for example, and he works all day and it's sunset when he finishes and 30 miles of dirt back to town, it's customary to invite that person to eat if it's dinner time.We keep pretty strict budgets on transportation, utilities and other stuff, but we don't really watch our food bills that closely, so I'm really just guessing, but It's probably pretty close. I expect the Guinness and Tecate add considerably to that total, but I don't really want to know that Running out of groceries is not an option around here, it's too far to the store.
