In CHicago, on the streets the electric scooter and the Segway seem to be taking over. Thinking about getting one. Segway costs $5000; electric scooter about $500.
If you have one, how do you recharge the battery and where do you keep it?

I've seen an electric scooter in my neighborhood once. Cleveland is still pretty much motorcycle mentality. I don't think it would be safe to be riding either one in my neighborhood. I won't even ride my bike in the street around here. Far too much traffic (and crazy drivers).

We have several retirement homes so we see the three wheel scooters but never seen a Segway.
They are only rated 250 pounds so it would be over loaded to take a big guy like me and add a couple bags of heavy groceries say....Lots of bikes however but very few fools play in the road. It's worth your life to mix with cars.

Some kids in our neighborhood have an electric scooter. Every now and then, their mother takes a ride on it so I can verify that the scooter has surpassed the carrying capacity test -- over 250 pounds.
