The US isn't the only one considering whacking N Korea.

Great article. Hope it's not too good to be true. Bush should encourage China to invade North Korea.

George (Transparent) Bush has no intentions of touching NK. He's already said that part of the world should be dealt with by China and Japan.

LOL, well considering they have been south of the Yalu before.... would be interesting.

Damn... complain if he does do something and complains if he doesn't... talk about jaded....

President Bush is right in having China and Japan take care of it.

In a way, you're right Twelve. Bush is damned either way but it's his own fault. He's leading the U.S. in the path of destruction. Everything he does is suspicious imo, especially with a new election around the corner. If he "wins" again, I think the world will be a frightening place.

Having other countries fearing the U.S. isn't a good thing Twelve. It just puts the U.S. on the same level as the countries it fears.

Why?

By having other countries fear us, it places it us in the power position... deals and negotiations are half way won even before they begin, we have the most powerful military in the world, use it or lose it... and I for one don't want it lost.

We missed out on the glory days of colonization... maybe we should start them again.

I agree that military power puts a country in a good bargaining postion, but the type of power Bush is using is called aggression and it feeds anger. Especially in countries that are already mad at the U.S. (for whatever reason). Bush is sacrificing the very freedoms that the U.S. is famous for, for self glory - at your expense. Two unnecessary wars since he's been in office is 2 too many. The guy's looney. He needs a vacation.

Thank-you Cheryl.

By not showing a willingness to do whatever it takes to show some country we mean business is not a bad thing.

He's already said that part of the world should be dealt with by China and Japan.

Not really. Bush said we will not deal with N Korea unilaterally, unless N Korea re-institutes the previous agreement and verifiably stops all attempts at nuclear arming.

The United States says it will talk to North Korea only in a multilateral format involving countries directly threatened by the crisis, including South Korea, Japan and China.

It amazes me some people show more support for regimes such as N Korea than they do for western democracies.

"By not showing a... "

I agree Twelve. Certain countries seem hell bent on self-destruction and destruction in general. All the posturing in the world isn't going to do anything but make the U.S. look like it's stalling. It's a fine line. The problem lies with this administration being too quick to use military power as the only option and justifying it all with unsubstanciated claims. This makes the U.S. look weak, instead of strong.

Pre-Bush, I don't think any country would have thought of the U.S. as weak. Your President has changed everything and at your expense. That's why I dislike him so much (as President).
