Because this is a discussion board, we all discuss stuff but you often hear that none of us come up with any solutions to things such as hunger, poverty, war, sex offenders, overpopulation, polution, the mentally ill, prison population, etc., etc.

Do any of you have any ideas about solutions to any of these problems?

Just some ideas.

Trim the fat off the fat cats, ban any inheritance over $50Million.
Place all sexual predators before a matriarchal judiciary.
Lobotomies for repeat violent criminals.
Public humiliation of criminals.
Make long term investments into health and education.
Do not permit non-human-entities (ie. companies) to make political ‘contributions’, and even consider halting all political contributions. (democracy should not be for sale!)

I don't think our current society and governments are capable of rational long range planning. I see a economic and environmental collapse as better than just continuing the way things are even though it may kill me personally.

, nice try Kraft...

As I have always suspected Liberals just like to b*tch and offer nothing foward for solutions...

Here is what I think should be done.

Train more Iraqi Police, re train a self defense force...

Immediately put an Iraqi governement into power, with the notice that free elections to be held within one year or we come back...

Once this is done we mostly leave except for continued looking for WOMD's and let the Iraqi people try to make it on thier own...

I think we could free up quite a few prison beds if everyone convicted of non-violent, simple possession of a controlled substance was let out. Pot or heroin, it makes no difference. Send them home.

I see that this was much too broad of a question to be answered - sorry about that!

Do you think any of that will happen in Iraq, Twelve? What about Afghanistan? I'll bet you - in a year from now, things will become worse in the MIddle East and not only will the U.S. never pull out of Iraq, I imagine Iran will be next. If Bush gets in for another term, I guarantee Iran will be next.

You're right prof - putting druggies in jail is silly at best. And if one of you suggests it get the school age/child dealers off the streets, there are 100 more dealers waiting to fill the spot. The war on drugs has been lost.

I think what has happened in an effort to appease the peaceniks and other Anti-americans, is to try this "nice" BS... President Bush should declare martial law and take approriate measures...

Afghanistan is a different beast.... I think part of the reason we are staying there is because we armed them during their fight with the USSR and now we must de-arm and get a government in place that will function as we would like to see it function.

What we are doing in the Middle East is nothing more than what has been done in years past, we are just trying to correct problems there and it will take force to do so.

It's difficult to see any solutions for the future. Many of the young men that were taught to be kinder and gentler than the previous generation to females, their friends, to most others and also to animals and the environment are now seeing the horrors of war and are being killed themselves.

All the young children of the world continue to witness the horrors of mankind, and now it is in their homes daily on their television sets all over the world. Many of the children overseas are brought up to hate us with a passion and this feeling may stay with them forever.

We can't even begin to solve the problems in our own country and we want to solve them for others?

Each country will always want to be the strongest and most powerful.

Someday, way off in the far future I can see a solution when there is one world, all equal, no power struggles. But I doubt that will ever happen.

Is it our genetic coding to be the way we are, such brutal souls? Lol, many times we can't even get along with each other from behind our computers in our own little rooms.

But I doubt that will ever happen.

As long as we are independent thinking people, that is a true statment... only in a "one" thinking world could that ever happen and at that point I do hope it ends shortly thereafter.

We could all remain independent thinking people working towards one common goal. The more ideas, the more input, the better things would become.

In fact I think there should be more female rulers and more of us in control of things worldwide as we see things different than many of the males.

Great idea, kiara!

...while we keep in mind that a few males on this board are not representative of most males in any shape, form or fashion.

The best answer to the resolution of these problems will be found in better education.

ebayauctionguy, how can Christianity solve hunger and poverty? How can it solve war? How can it solve sex offenders? How can it solve overpopulation? How can it solve polution? How can it solve the mentally ill or the prison population? If what you say is true, why hasn't Christianity solved things so far?

Actually if there ever happened to be a female takeover it would be easy. Most of the troublemakers are the men that worry most about their balls and their masculinity.

Since many of their brain cells are concentrated on their lower regions they fall victim to women much easier than the more clear thinking rational male who would readily unite with us and help us in our conquests. We would of course give those men equal power.

Things would change for the better in this world.

solution #1

The developed world is run by men who wear neckties. The necktie is the most ridiculous article of clothing ever devised for men. It serves no purpose, other than possibly covering up unsightly buttons on one's shirt. In addition, middle aged men are know to fudge their neck sizes about as often as women fudge their shoe size. This results in a world controlled by men who are making decisions with reduced blood flow to the brain. Ties should be outlawed in the developed world.

solution #2 I believe I have said this before, but that's too bad. All political and military leaders should be required to carry out their responsibilities and address their citizens/troops butt naked. How far would soldiers follow into battle a pink, flabby general yelling "charge!!"...how serious would John Ashcroft seem standing in front of a press conference in his birthday suit?? Would the full-body blush give away his BS for all to see???
