After watching her a couple times I fingured that if I ever went in front of her I would be the first person that ended up with criminal charges resulting from a civil court case. She's rude and annoying as hell and whether she believes a story or not, every person had the right to tell their side without being told to shut up or called liar in mid sentence.
I realise it makes for good TV, but it gives a horrible impression our court system.

Wrap her, Judge Hatchett and Larry Joe up in the same smelly bucket... why do people allow themselves to be put through that on National TV?

Personally, I think she's hysterical. However, my feeling is that once she decides she doesn't like you, it doesn't matter whether you are telling the truth or not. In her opinion, you're lying. Still, a funny and gutsy lady.

But for the fact that she has a show, this thread would not exist. You, Judge Judy started the sequence of events. Therefore I fine you your retirement pension.
Most of the shows are the same concept. Former lovers (mostly heterosexuals sometimes occasionally homosexuals) break up and one sues the other for alleged loans. No, it wasn't a loan. We were a couple, yadda yadda yadda. Once in awhile, the defendent will claim, but your Honor we were never a couple. We shared an apartment, but we had seperate rooms. There was one recently that the defendent claimed they were a couple, but the plaintiff at first said they weren't. Then in the classic JJ questioning, he finally confessing that they would sometimes shared a bed, but she used me your Honor.
Or their dog bite me (my child, my pet). Defendent, no it didn't.
Or they ruined my wedding! No we didn't. Judge Judy: I have had many weddings (I am a Mother and a Grandmother) and you will never have a perfect wedding.
But for the fact I exist you wouldn't be on tv. Therefore, I find in the plaintiff's/defedent's favor.

I remember one where both litigants were about 20 years old. The female plaintiff was suing the male defendent for owed rent. He was a budding police officer (about to go to the acedamy) and refused to pay for rent after staying for about three months. The reason? Because she painted the common areas of HER HOUSE a color that the defedndant didn't like. She never touched his room, just the common areas.
Judge Judy chewed him up and spit him out, referring to the fact he was planning to become a police officer without good ethics.
