Do anyone know of a discussion board dedicated to small businesses wanting to accept credit cards through a merchant account? Seems like there are lots of processing companies out there, and I would be interested in hearing of other people's experiences locating and using different vendors .. the good, the bad, and the ugly!
I want to be able to accept credit cards directly from my auction winners and regular customers -- PayPal requires 'verification' (bank account) after customers reach a $2000 limit (sometimes less). Many of my B2B customers don't want to go through this.
I only have 1-2 credit transactions per month, so I want to limit my recurring monthly charges.
Thanks,
Mel

all merchant account providers i know of have monthly charges -statement fee, minimum discount fee,avs fee etc etc.
if you dont want any monthly fee and dont mind paying 3.5% and 35 cents transaction fee and 35 annual fee, take a look at propay.
you have to pay a fee transferring your fund from porpay to your bank account.
the limits is on you, read about it on its site.
