Today it is raining, hard at times and it amazes me the number of people who drive with no headlights on. In the state of Kentucky some of the rules of the road include; whoever crosses the yellow line in road first has right-of-way,lots of luck to those who are riding on the guard rail in a sharp curve. If all of the lights on your vehicle don't work but one thats fine, after all thats why you have two of each light in case one should go out you still have a back up. This way you don't fix them until they all go dead. Never give turn signals when making a turn, the guy three miles ahead of you could pull out in front of you and go on,but now he has to wait to see what your going to do. Today is a great day to bring out your wagon load of hay or tobacco, you should only hold up traffic for 30 miles, while you travel 25 MPH on this busy two lane road.

Believe me it isn't any mopre fun in the city.
When we go across I-696 through the northern suburbs of Detroit I have been going 85 in a center lane with traffic passing me in both sides. If it starts to rain they don't slow down a bit even though it's harder to stop. They cut in and out of lanes trying to find a way through that doesn't exist and miss by inches. I have seen people get out and fist fight and in one case wave guns at each other.

state of Florida has to be the worst for drivers going threw on RED.At any time any intersection, you get 1-3 {some times more} run the light, and do not stop.I am talking the light is RED before they hit the intersection.
It is really bad, really bad.

Tailgating has become acceptable driving practice. Forget the 3 second rule, or one car length for every 10 miles of speed. Driving only 5 miles over the speed limit will get you tailgated every time around here. Nobody shows anybody any courtesy.

When I had my old beater truck with 1/4 inch angle iron rear bumper, I loved tailgaters...

Out of the past twenty or so times that a car has either cut directly in front of me without signaling or just drifted into my lane, each and EVERY time the driver has been talking on a cell phone!!!!!!!

Nobody here uses their headlights either it seems. I moved here five years ago and have been complaining ever since. Doesn't matter if snowing hard, fog, rain, whatever. Where I moved from it was the law that if you were using your windshield wipers you had to have your headlights on. I always thought that was a good plan but that's not the law here in Missouri.

I don't understand if people think by not using their headlights or turn signals they will save use on the tiny bulb inside and never have to replace it (big expense!), or if they just don't want to take the time to get in the habit of doing these things, is it some small way of rebelling or doing things their own way, or what?

One thing about as bad as the cell phone distraction is the eating in the car. I got rear ended this year by a girl eating while driving. I stopped and she stopped & got out and walked up to my driver's side window AND SHE WAS STILL EATING, never put it down!
