I know most of the ones on this board have a big heart, so I am asking to please, PLEASE
Say a lot of Prayers for Baby Sara
Sara was born 2 days ago, as a blue baby, she was full term and her mother had problems during delivery and had a emergency c-section. Mother and Sara almost died, it was very scary.
The Mother {Michele} is doing okay and recovering day by day.{She is my step sister, Kinda} we are friends and I am believing the best for her and her daughter.
Baby Sara has not been. She is hooked up to all kinds of machines and is not eating nor is she moving her arms or her legs. She weighed in at over 6lbs and so cute and so beautiful.
We could use all the support and prayers you can spare.
Thank you for having BIG hearts and for your care and concern. You guys are the BEST.
Thanks to everyone, Terrilee

Hi Everyone,
I have some WONDERFUL !!!! News.
Michele went home today from the hospital, I am sure tho she won't be spending too much at home with her baby still in the hospital.
The BEST news is Baby Sarah Has improved some. Can't relax just yet, but she is making some progress.
Between last night and today she did this,
she cried for the 1st time and cried a couple of times during the day.
She also moved 1 of her arms and 1 of her legs.
She also did eat a little on her own from a bottle.
We are all over joyed and so happy so be seeing any thing, that we have been so elated and having tears of hope.
I want the say a SPECIAL thank you to everyone.
THANK YOU !!! THANK YOU !!! THANK YOU !!!
I know in my heart and truly believe in the power of pray and it has been shown again with baby Sarah. We have a long ways to go, but I'm sure God will and wants her to be a healthy and normal little girl. With Sarah it is just going to take a little longer then most.
Children are a BLESSING !!!! at all times
I'll keep you updated with any thing new, and once again thanks to every one for your prayers since I posted and for the ones today and for your prayers tomorrow.
Have a good night all.

Baby Sarah came home from the hospital today.
She is well enough to eat on her own from a bottle. She is moving her arms and legs some.
She has a long road ahead of her as she gets older. She is a surviver.
Thanks again to everyone.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

That is such wonderful news. Ah, the power of prayer!

Helen - Just wondering - are you trying to intimate that it was medical skill and not supernatural intervention that may have helped the child? Some posters will find that an offensive slap at their prayers. Studies have shown prayed for people do better. Don't know if the nature of the prayer has been considered.
Perhaps someone was kind enough to light some good juju sticks for the kid.

I don't think Helen was saying that at all. It wasn't just prayer that saved the baby's life. There were the skills of a medical team and a nursing team, as well. I know from experience that sometimes we forget a big thank you to those people also.

Gravid,
I didn't intend an "offensive slap at prayers".
I think that studies have found that those patients who have hope or some spiritual belief have a better chance of recovery than those who do not. Of course the baby wouldn't have that advantage and so, for the baby I simply expressed appreciation to the good doctors who saved her life.

Of course the baby wouldn't have that advantage
You are right, a baby does not know how to believe, and until they are taught, it is by the parents believing.
The Doctors & the Nurses were thanked many many times, and yes they played a important role also.
A workable team all combined.
I am going to share this message with the parents, so they may see that total strangers gave from their hearts.
Thanks again to everyone.
