Just read this on the BBC Entertainment section.
Some of your fellow Canadian's sure get upset about concerts being cancelled, huh? Not just once either.
"Punk fans riot in Montreal"
"A total of 42 cars and 11 shops were damaged Punk fans went on the rampage in Montreal, Canada, on Tuesday after a gig was cancelled at the last minute."
"Police arrested seven people after hundreds of fans overturned cars, set them on fire and smashed shops."
"A crowd of 1,000 fans had gathered to see The Exploited and Total Chaos - but the bands were stuck at the US border."
"A total of 42 cars and 11 shops were damaged, with five people injured. Police said they were surprised by the "magnitude and the speed" of events.
Most fans left quietly after hearing of the cancellation, but a few hundred caused havoc, police said."
"Chaos
Three police officers and two security guards suffered minor injuries and three police vehicles were damaged."
"Vehicles were set alight by the rioters
Riot police had to cordon off several blocks in the city centre before the rioters dispersed."
"Philippe Yeung, who lives next to the concert venue, said he called the police several times before they arrived more than half an hour later. "When the police came, the cars were already on fire, they were already overturned and [the rioters] were moving up the street," he said."
"Police Inspector Yves Surprenant said it took time to get a force together to deal with the situation."
"Round-up
"We don't have people at every street corner in Montreal. They're spread all over the city and it takes time to get them all in one specific area and ready for action," he said. "We're not going to send in five officers to deal with several hundred people."
"Of the arrests made, one was for armed assault and the rest for causing mischief and disturbing the peace."
"Total Chaos apologised to fans on their website but said it was unlikely the gig would be rescheduled."
"Last year, Guns 'n' Roses fans in Canada rioted after the group cancelled their first tour in a decade."
"At the opening gig in Vancouver, police were called in to stop rioting fans after singer Axl Rose failed to appear."
"Disgruntled fans used planters, steel barricades and concrete rubbish bins to smash glass doors at Vancouver's General Motors Place when the concert was cancelled minutes before it was due to start."

KD - Came across that article while searching for something to support one of my arguments. Reminded me of the last Cinco De Mayo my husband and I attended in down town San Jose, CA. Violent and destructive people are all over.

No kidding, Linda. I've mentioned it before here - wondering why people get violent and stupid when they flip out, instead of going the other way and acting like Mother Theresa. Is violence easier? More thrilling?

Krafty - lets face it - "Sudden outbreaks of Politeness" are not exactly newsworthy.
.... And today doors all over the city were held open for women and the elderly...... Not a big ratings draw

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
