A tentative typology of ignorance:

1. Ignorance of facts, i.e., ignorance of relevant information on which to base responsible examination;

2. Ignorance resulting from the lack of particular theories or constructs to interpret them;

3. Ignorance resulting from limitations in world views: i.e., bases of reference, life experience, beliefs;

4. Affective ignorance, not caring about something one does or may know.

Could you expect any less of someone who has NEVER done anything for their own country yet continues to bash ours...

Nobody here is bashing the country. We are critical of the LEADERS of this country and that analysis is allowed and encouraged in a DEMOCRACY.
Furthermore, how do you, an anonymous poster on a chat board, manage to determine what another anonymous poster has done for this country?

BTW...What does your name mean? twelve poles.

Look it up Helen... you think you are so smart...

But you won't like what you find, it doesn't have any negativity associated with it... or anti-americanism... You and assbounty deserve each other

We all know what you do for our country Helen... b*tch... just b*tch...
Nothing positive...

Oh and before this id was born, I posted with my real name here... but then I won't allow people like you to mess with my auctions... and like I believe Helen is your name...

Unlike some people here, you are capable of delivering something other than juvenile, third grade insults.

"but then I won't allow people like you to mess with my auctions... and like I believe Helen is your name..."

My name, address and phone number have been posted on this board along with my auctions. I have never been involved in auction interference and I have never been accused of messing with anyone's auctions. I resent your implication that I have.

You should be more careful, twelve.

I used to post with my real name also, before this one, but never posted my phone number! (I changed for the same reason 12 did, and I am not accusing anyone here of auction interference, but that it could happen, thats all)

Why was your phone number posted Helen? That must have been scary!

Shelly,

It was back when I was very naive about safe internet protocol...as you were, aparently. Unless your phone number is private, it's easily available with a name and address. I posted that information to defend krs who had been accused of being me.

Of course, you know Terri. We found out later that she lives across the road from where I was born, in Mississippi. My uncle lives there now and he is her CPA. It's a small world. She recently sent me photos of the area.

Oh! yeah, I remember all that, but I didn't know you posted your number... that was when there were moderators wasn't it?
I really hope nothing bad came out of that.

and yeah I remember Terri, and she lives where you were born. I still see her on ez boards, but I rarely post on them.

I DO know that you can put a phone number into google and it will come up with a name and address, which is scary enough to me!

I tried it with both my numbers, thank God there older addresses! Now its unlisted

Yes...and you can get a phone number with only an address but not if the phone number is unlisted...so you're safe!

Wow!

There are several usages of twelve poles that you might choose although he seems to thing it is obvious.
Fence rails were once cut to a standard length and a man knew his acreage by how many fence poles enclosed it instead of a survey chain. Many early deeds describe the land that way.

There is also a use of twelve poles for dogs to demonstrate their skills in a standardized training routine show.

Indian lodges were once used with the poles being transported by being hung in bundles on each side of a horse. A large lodge for an upper middle class family could use twelve or more poles and require two horses just for the poles. A full five to seven horses could be required for the whole lodge. The poles wore out usually not from the end dragging but there was a hole burned through one end with a hot wire and the leather strap through the hole usually wore the hole open until it was too weak and broke.

I'd like to hear any other usage that does not involve how many Polish men it takes to screw in a light bulb.

Interesting, gravid

Twelvepole has mentioned that he lived in W.VA so, from West Virginia Archives and History I found Twelvepole Creek in Wayne County, West Virginia.

The creek gets its name from the fact that the surveyors when locating the Savage land grant at its mouth in 1784, found its width to be twelve poles, or rods.

Helen

At least it's a good guess.
