Around 7,500 people from 15 different European countries were surveyed by the Commission.

They were presented with a list of 15 countries and asked to pick which ones represented a threat to world peace.

Some 59 per cent of respondents said they believed that Israel was a greater threat to world peace than North Korea and Iran.

Pro-Israel campaigners often label as anti-Semitic any criticism of Israel or its policies.

Israeli army officials said soldiers shot the man on Saturday after he refused calls to stop, ignored warning shots and fled from troops.

There was no independent confirmation of the claim. Palestinians accuse Israeli soldiers of often deliberately shooting civilians and then claiming they were resistance fighters.

The military said the man, Muhammad Hamad, 23, was lightly wounded in the leg.

But a reporter with the Associated Press said he saw the man's body in a hospital morgue with two gunshot wounds to the chest.

FROM UK

"With ruthless efficiency, the Israeli army has been crushing and rocketing the Palestinian refugee town of Rafah"

"Minutes later an engine roared and tons of steel - he didn't wait to discover whether it was a tank or a bulldozer - came crashing into the front of Alweda's computer shop. He squeezed his children through a back window and told them to run as the clanking monster tore at his livelihood."

Many now believe that the United States, led by the Bush administration. presents a more dangerous threat to the world than any other country or terrorist group.

With the Bush administration in control, I believe that we pose a significant threat to the rest of the world either through deliberate or reckless action.

In case you can't tell from my posts, I disagree. When confronted with a problem, the worst course of action is to do nothing. We have done nothing, since Carter allowed our embassy (US soil) to be attacked without action, until now.

You and your ilk would continue to do nothing, but ring your hands and bellow about how bad the country is. Thank god your type doesn't run the country, anymore.

Sorry, I can't stay and play, but real life calls. I do wish you well!

It often requires more courage to dare to do right than to fear to do wrong.

Religion is the greatest threat to world peace and has always been.
