First we have the college student who wanted to stash the box cutters on the airlines to prove it could be done.
Now we have a man from California who says he was removing the bolts from their electrical towers for the same reason.
He's been named the "Power-Tower" Terrorist. I hope they throw the 'book' at him. We'd would have had another electrical power crisis IF this had gone un-noticed and strong winds had taken the power lines down.
What's with these people anyway? They can't just go to the news media, their representatives and make their complaints? They have to make their points in these DRASTIC ways?
Think of all who would have been affected had his 'mission' gone as he had hoped.

Silly people think their concerns will be ignored if they don't prove they are valid. Silly because they think proving it will make anyone take any more action on it. Once you get past about three people in an organization it is capable of ingoring any outside input. You can tell them their building is on fire and they will hold a meeting to discuss it and form a focus group.

That's kind of my point. It's not like we're not already aware that we're vulnerable in these areas. So what's the point? Just like with our electrical grids/systems....we're well aware they're vulnerable, but we don't have, and can't afford, to have a guard stationed at each one of them.
Next we'll have someone poisoning our water systems to prove it can be done. Of course it can be done....so why the careless endangerment of fellow citizens?
