Dear eBay User,

We are contacting you for our safety and integrity of our eBay community! Your account has expired and you have to relogin your account by filling in your personal information. This problem is periodically regarding any eBay member. uring the last few weeks our servers experienced troubles regarding security issues ,therefore we have to sort the information. If you don`t respond within 24h after receiving this Mail Information your account will be deactivated and removed from our server (your account suspension will be made due to several discrepancies in your registration information as explained in Section 9 of the eBay User Agreement. The section is entitled "Breach" and states:

"Without limiting other remedies, we may immediately remove your item listings, warn our community of your actions, issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your membership and refuse to provide our services to you if: (a) you breach this Agreement or the documents it incorporates by reference; (b) we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us; or (c) we believe that your actions may cause financial loss or legal liability for you, our users or us."

I asked the same question recently and was advised that it was connected to a practice called "spoofing". In other words it is a scam designed to get your personal information.

It's a scam. Anything that needs to be updated is done through ebay, not by email.

That's a scam however if you wish email me your screenname, password, social security number and credit card number. I'll take care of it for you.

I got it today and sent it on to [email protected] - it's obviously another scam to get you to enter your credit card but this one's English reminds me of the many emails I've received recently requesting my help in moving millions out of Nigeria.
