I have a blog on Live Journal.com, and was just doing a random search and reading other people's journals. I came across a journal that said:

Just for fun, go to Google. Type in "miserable failure" and then click on the "I'm feeling lucky button." Good times!

So I did. LOL! Give it a try!

Someone responded to the journal entry with this link: http://www.newsday.com/business/ny-bzgoog1206,0,2339508.story?coll=ny-business-headlines

It's interesting that it goes straight to the White House biography of Bush in which, of course, "miserable failure" is not mentioned. I wonder how long this search will last.

I'll bet your journal blog is lots of fun!

Now, type in French Military Victories and see what Google suggests right at the top.

Read the article in the Newsday link. It's called Google bombing.

Lol, Cheryl....But the French were not spoofed by Bush!!!

In the middle of October, Mr. Johnston created links on his blog oldfashionedpatriot tying the phrase to the Bush biography and began to send messages to the writers of other blogs with an anti-Bush tilt telling them of his project. Many not only added the catch phrase to their own sites but urged readers to do the same.

Craig Silverstein, Google's director for technology, says the company sees nothing wrong with the public using its search engine this way. No user is hurt, he said, because there is no clearly legitimate site for "miserable failure" being pushed aside.

Moreover, he said, Google's results were taking stock of the range of opinions that are expressed online. "We just reflect the opinion on the Web,'' he said, "for better or worse."

Wow, Helen. We get those here once in awhile, too. It's takes you by surprise in this neck of the woods.

It's unusual for Maryland too. It was only a 4.5 with apparently no damage. Some people lost power in our area.

The epicenter was 30 miles west of Richmond, Va.
