I liked this. Was at the drs forever yesterday, and they had CNN on, and showed this poll. So looked and it is on their site

When people were asked to name the man they admire the most, Bush was picked by 29 percent. Secretary of State Colin Powell and Pope John Paul II were named by 4 percent and former President Clinton was named by 3 percent, according to the CNN-USA Today-Gallup poll.

Sen. Clinton, was named by 16 percent, while talk show host Oprah Winfrey was picked by 7 percent, first lady Laura Bush by 6 percent and national security adviser Condoleezza Rice by 4 percent.

If I were polled, I would have picked Laura Bush

Oh they did most admired TV personalities also, and Oprah was the #1 most admired, and Letterman was #2......... COME ON, Letterman is way funnier than Oprah!

Yeah - but Oprah is loaded : )

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Doesn't surprise me that this President was named the most admired man in this poll. He's done an excellent job of handling the aftermath of 9-11.

And Oprah is well known for giving/sharing her wealth for the benefit of others. So that doesn't surprise me either.

'I've done an excellent job of handling the aftermath of 9-11.'

Can you imagine Bush saying that on the Letterman show? It would break the laugh meter!

As it should be. He's done an excellent job.

Amen,

Helen, President Bush has done more in the aftermath of 9-11 than any thousand demo's. What have you done to bolster American security, other that run your mouth....& and run him down.......

Bear, I would like to hear in your words, what President Bush has done to bolster American security since 9/11. Does the Orange alert comfort you? Does the fact that we are in a war with Iraq when we should be protecting our country aganist terrorism comfort you? Does the loss of our allies who would ordinarily be working with us against terrorism comfort you?

Oh...I forgot to tell you what I have done to bolster American security. I have done exactly what our president told me to do. I've bought duck tape and plastic sheeting and I pay attention to the alerts which require that I pay attention to my surroundings while I carry on with my normal schedule. You know...the one that says, be afraid but go out and have fun.

What have you done?
