When the public roads are closed and all must bend their knee if they are in sight of his face we have a king not a president no matter what false title they give him.

Some of you will disagree - but if it were a different man you'd feel the same. It doesn't matter who is in the office - it does not merit this level of adulation. To accept this you are accepting serfdom.

To me - if we have less freedom to stand on the sidewalk because we disagree with the king when one of his supporters who may stand on the same spot we are no longer a free people.

Soon we shall see someone posting that if I don't like it here I should move off to some hell hole that has no freedom.

That is about like telling a woman she should be happy to be slapped around occasionally as long as she is provided with a nice house instead of living in poverty.

Being good one way doesn't buy you license to be bad another. Although heaven knows enough seem to think that.

There's been no outcry about this guy's mistreatment, just like there's been no outcry against the increasing loss of constitutional protections from the "patriot" act.
I had a conversation recently with a woman I had previously believed to be rational and thoughtful...she told me in no uncertain terms "look, as long as there is gas in the pumps and food in the stores and the lights are on, I'm happy and and have to believe the government is doing the right thing". Ignorance is bliss....banging sticks together to keep the bears away....whistling past the graveyard.....

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the communists
and I did not speak out - because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out - because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me -
and by then there was no one left to speak out for me.

First they came for the Muslims, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Muslim.

Then they came to detain immigrants indefinitely solely upon the certification of the Attorney General, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't an immigrant.

Then they came to eavesdrop on suspects consulting with their attorneys, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a suspect.

Then they came to prosecute non-citizens before secret military commissions, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a non-citizen.

Then they came to enter homes and offices for unannounced "sneak and peek" searches, and I didn't speak up because I had nothing to hide.

Then they came to reinstate Cointelpro and resume the infiltration and surveillance of domestic religious and political groups, and I didn't speak up because I had stopped participating in any groups.

Then they came for anyone who objected to government policy because it aided the terrorists and gave ammunition to America's enemies, and I didn't speak up because...... I didn't speak up.

Then they came for me....... and by that time no one was left to speak up.

German Nazification / American Nazification

What really spooks me is that US power is far greater than Germany’s was in the early C20th, and that US popular culture/belief has great direct influence here, through TV and movies.

Only Bursey failed to leave the restricted area, became belligerent and was arrested by airport police on a trespassing charge, according to testimony.

So willfully disobeying a order from a law enforcement officer is within his constitutional rights? I don't think so. The Homeland Security Act has nothing to do with this case of criminal stupidity.

I fully support the judge's ruling. This guy has been a trouble maker for quite sometime.

And my support of this fine has nothing to do with whether it's a democratic or a republican president who's being protected by the SS. They were doing their job.

There are limits to what a police officer can order. If the orders are illegal then yes - you have a right to object and refuse.

What is the reasonable limit to what they may ask to protect the president?

Will you agree to a curfew telling everyonme to stay inb their homes while his Majesty is on the streets?

The next election will demonstrate that the American people are not as apathetic as some may assume. Bush/Ashcroft/Rove will soon learn that Constitutional freedoms cannot be violated in this country and that our freedom will not be compromised in a quest for the warmonger's concept of "safety".
