And to me it is murder when a drunk driver kills someone. So here is a woman who is out driving drunk (AND talking on a cell phone!) and slams into a car carrying a family. The husband is killed. The wife is still in a coma. And their baby, born by Caesarian 5 months after the accident, is being raised by relatives. And what sentence does this scum get? 30 days in jail. That's it. 30 days. Oh, and she has to carry the picture of the man she killed in her wallet for the next 5 years. Whoop-de-doo. Then she has the nerve to complain about the picture the man's mother chose to give her--it was the one taken while he was in his coffin.

Drunks are a danger to society and belong either in jail or a hospital if they are ever found behind the wheel of a car. None should have a license to drive a car.

omg! That is just awful. What kind of justice is this? But it happens everyday. Violent criminals seem to get the least punishment in the judicial system. Why they've been soft on DWI until now is a mystery. I wish the judge would have made her tatoo that picture on her hand, face, or arm to look at it always -- not just 'keep' it in her wallet. (But then we would be reverting back to the days of the scarlet letter system of justice. Although some judges make nonviolent crimals walk with a poster or some such and do community service which I dont object to.)

If justice is withheld people will find it on their own. If someone killed my wife driving drunk they had better hope they are kept locked up for a long long time where they are safe because they would not die easy - to say they would die screaming doesn't tell the half of it.
