I seen on the news tonight another case where a man from Sommerset KY shot a man in a Fla Flea Market in Mount Dora. They need to ban the sales of guns in all Flea Markets.

You certainly don't tell us much. Was the gun actually sold there or was it used for a robbery or in response to a robbery or some disturbance?

One of the funniest things I ever saw was a security video of two robbers that would go in convention centers where they were having gem shows or antique shows with guns and masks on and terrorize the people taking their wallets and jewels.
The camera showed them running in the door of the civic center with a big banner above the doors annoucing a huge gun and knife show.
They were inside about ten seconds and came running back out about three times as fast as they ran in and as they came out the whole entryway just disintegrated behind them in a shower of broken glass and shredded aluminum as the vendors all opened up on them with what had to be some serious firepower.

My daughter was there at the flea market near Orlando...She didn't see the incident but heard the ambulance and later found out that a fellow was either buying or selling a gun and was shot in the stomach. I'll see if I can find a news story.

Kentucky man critically injured at central Florida flea market
Associated Press

MOUNT DORA, Fla. - A Kentucky man was critically injured Saturday when his friend accidentally shot him as they were passing around a handgun in a busy flea market, police said.

Danny Payton, 45, from Somerset, Ky., was handing 70-year-old Roy Williams a .22 Freedom Arms Derringer with the barrel facing toward himself when Williams accidentally pulled the trigger, shooting Payton in the stomach, Lake County Deputy David Pelton said.

The shot rang loud in the "very crowded" Renningers Flea Market, Pelton said. The gun, a five-shot revolver with no trigger guard, belonged to a flea market vendor, who had given it to Williams to clean, Pelton said.

Payton was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was in critical condition on Saturday evening, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The victim told the deputy that his friend Williams shot him by accident, Pelton said. No charges were filed.

Williams "was very distraught and left to Orlando" to check on his friend's condition, Pelton said.

The shooting took place behind a booth along one of the aisles, and the scene was cordoned off as the flea market remained open, Pelton said.

Pelton said the flea market's rules say any gun that's sold there should be unloaded.

Mount Dora is 23 miles northwest of Orlando.

"Why they usually thin themselves out... "

Because they are just stupid enough to do so in crowded public areas, Twelve.

The NRA and others always want to blame bleeding hearts, communists and the left for working to control guns in this country. It's actually morons like this who do the most to further the cause of gun control. In addition to a clean criminal record, I don't see anything wrong with passing a basic intelligence test before you're allowed to be anywhere near a firearm. What a couple of bozos....

People seeking positions in law enforcement should be required to test also.
There was a law enforcement officer here in KCMO, that accidentally shot himself while cleaning his weapon. That was something new to me... cleaning a firearm while loaded!

That's an idiocy which crosses all professional lines, KC.
I once worked with a thirty-years-experience carpenter; imagine my horror and dismay when he fastened his own hand to a workbench with a pneumatic nailgun! (And, a few years later, this same guy ripped off his own finger on a table saw!)

Stupidity ought to be taxed, imo...

Those nailer's work good even when attaching
body parts to wood! Several days ago the local news aired a story dealing with a carpenter that had been shot in the head with a 16 Penny nail gun, by his co-worker. The nail penetrated his skull and traveled
deep into the brain tissue. Much to everyones surprise he suffered no apparent loss of faculties. Taxing is something to think about, the notion of genetic enhancement, I find entertaining!

Well crap - after you exclude idiots from operating guns and power tools we may as well do something about the people guiding 4000 lb cars around town while attending to personal hygiene,
eating lunch, dicsiplining the children, and talking on the telephone. ( all at once )

....or, watching tv and operating a computer while driving. California had to pass a law to ban the dashboard screens. Computer mounts are available for your steering wheel.

Another example of some people are way to stupid to be allowed to use a gun-

He just blasted away at a patch of color without seeing the whole thing. Duhhhhhhhhh.

The color should have been fluorescent orange. Apparently the younger son was crouched down, wearing a black hat. The father could only see the black hat and thinking the hat was a hog, he shot his son.

But when reality sets in, there are more idiots behind the wheels of cars causing more deaths than gun do.
