This concept is news to me: at least half a dozen folks have set up blogs to track specific reporters. They call it "adopting a journalist" and their opinions are being read, many times by the journalists themselves.
Below are links to some of the blogs:
"Aeolus" maintains two watches, one examining Reuters reporter Patricia Wilson and the other focusses on Associated Press reporter Nedra Pickler

The University of Maryland did a study of people who were misled by Bush and correlated the misperceptions with their primary news source . Fox readers were overwhelmingly misinformed. I understand that propaganda is disseminated across the board, but I wonder why bloggers aren't critiquing the right wing news sources too!
I think it's a great idea from the standpoint that it educates readers of the blogs. I doubt that it will intimidate or have much effect on the reporters however. They are paid and excel in their field based on their ability to spin a tale and exaggerate.
I read several news blogs daily so this is very interesting info for me. I'm looking forward to reading all of your links.

My only guess would be that people who'd devote so much effort to tracking a specific journalist would not waste their time on the crackpots at Fox.
Glad you found this interesting, Helen. I think 'Adopt A Journalist' may become a "phenomenon" very soon...
