I tryed to install a McAfee Firewall on my computer which screwed my computer up totally,it just kept shutting down ever time I turned it on. So I uninstalled the firewall and its fine now. Is there any firewall that won't do that?

I use Zone Alarm and have had no problems. (Free version)

I use Zone Alarm; it's not free anymore, but well worth the money (and you can take it for a free spin before buying)

SpyBot, which *is* free, will rinse your system of pop-up advertising worms and other stuff...

I use Norton Firewall & Virus.
Never had a problem.

Switched to Norton after McAfee started doing for me what it's doing to you!

I use Kerio 2.1.5, but there is a learning curve, and requires some knowledge to configure the rulesets. The 4 versions are crap.

Zone Alarm is pretty idiot proof, but does conflict with some software.

I use ZoneAlarm also with Windows98 and it has not created any problems.
