PLEASE NOTE. IN ALL OF THE FOLLOWING YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE $ FOR THEM TO WORK.

[$b]bold[$/b] without the $ becomes bold

[$i]italic[$/] without the $ becomes italic

[$b][$i] both [$/b][$/i] becomes both

[$url]http://whatever.com[$/url] will make a clickable link to a web page.

[$img]http://yourpiclocation.jpg[$/img] will display your pic here. (Please have pity, large JPGs really slow down the loading time for me!)

[$email]youremailaddress[$/email] will create a link for your email.

Now for all those annoying little thingies:

I have tried posting pictures on other threads but they do not appear.

do this

right click on the picture, then scroll down to properties, click properties, then you will see the url, copy and paste between the brackets shown above

Tried that. I think the picture isnt coming showing because the picture is posted on a geocities.com site.

The link was posted between the url markers you had indicated.

It should work, logansdad.

Make sure that there are no spaces between the end tags and the url or spaces within the end tag. and also make sure that the brackets are turned in the right direction.

Nah, Logan may be right, Helen. Geocities (and a lot of other places) have their gifs encoded so that even when it looks like one can link to them, it can't happen. (I know; I've been hunting for an obnoxious sigline 'bumper sticker' ala Bear for days now. With no webspace of my own to upload it to, I have to link directly, and a whole lot of folks, understandably, don't want me or others sucking up their bandwidth every time I make a post.)

Logan, one suggestion: if the image you wanted to post has a name or a few key words you could use in a Google Images Search,

http://www.google.com/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=

try that. Lots of pictures one finds on the Web are posted all over the place, and many websites don't mind if you link their imgaes directly.
