CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN

**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.

MORE

A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!

In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]

The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

According to a short blurb on the Drudge site a few hours earlier this is a story Chris Lehane has been shopping around since the last election and is one of the reasons he wasn't picked to be Al Gore's running mate. The Kerry camp has been expecting this to come up and says there is nothing to it. I don't know why it was pulled from Drudge but I do know that earlier this was the ONLY story on the Drudge site. Fair and Honest just like Fox.

There. EAG's unquestioning acceptance of this drivel from Drudge is exactly what I was mentioning on another of his threads.

EAG, did you happen to notice that:

a) No intern was named

b) No sources were cited

c) No substantiation of other news agencies' interest in this smear was made

Really, Getalife? If this story is that old, it makes the timing of its re-release all the more suspect: George Bush's character is being assailed (vis a vis his shirking of Guard duty) and lo! up comes some bogus crap about Kerry's character.
The Republicans' preoccupation with sex and their prurient use of it to smear Democrats is really quite telling...

When I first read the Drudge story posted here it was the only thing on the Drudge site except the usual editorial links, probably around 12:00-12:30 CST. I took a walk and thirty minutes later checked Drudge and the blurb I mentioned had been posted. Then I saw the link here, checked Drudge and the other posting had been removed.

Republicans can't win one the facts so they must resort to emotional issues that have nothing to do with what is actually important.

Example: Hey, lets make gay marriage more important that the economy, Iraq and Afghanistan, and the Constitution of the United States and the first ten amendments.

Right. But it's also been long suggested (and believed by me in a Levendis-sidestep sort of way) that, until Kerry became the clear front-runner amongst Democratic presidential candidates, he'd be left alone by the Bush Administration, and he was. Dean was too much of a threat ( -Vermont really is not a Washington-run state) so he had to be ridiculed 24/7 by the media as a loose cannon: "See Dean scream! See him telling the media to fluck off! "

Now that Wesley Clark has bailed, we've basically got Edwards, Kerry, and Kucinich to choose from. Unless Dean can buy some major airtime and present himself as a reasonable guy, he's cooked.

I also believe (sorry once again, Helen) that Kerry is a willing accomplice in what will ultimately become his defeat on election day.

If, by some miracle, Dean could rejuvenate his once-promising and lightning-fed campaign, I think he could win the White House.

Or be shot...

I was hoping you'd appreciate that remark, Helen; I offered it for your eyes especially, much the same way Salinger once tendered a 'rather skimpy book' to his editor:

"... in the spirit of Matthew Salinger, age one, urging a luncheon companion to accept a cool lima bean."

If causes Kerry to be as great a president as Clinton, bring on the women.

I would vote for a man who as a gentleman lies or evades about his sexual meandering than one who lies to start a war.

When I ran your conspiracy theory by a couple of professors, they told me that I was reading the wrong newspaper. LOL!

What a high horse you are upon today, Pat.

Pat,

I really dislike going from threads to email. It has nothing to do with you of course but just a personal policy that I have. You may ask me anything here and I will be happy to answer.

Reamond, if Kerry is elected (fat chance) does that means you'll donate you're wife or daughter to his cause?

And Helen, will you have to get new knee pads?

Ah, sadly, what I wanted to discuss is not for haphazard consumption, Helen...

(And really, while I appreciate your deleting of my email address in your reply, that yahoo account already gets every piece of spam generated on the planet, so I post it publicly without concern. )

After all, with the names I see here, they really offer nothing worth reading anyway.
