I don't know about you, but when I was a child, my mom's biggest fear was me getting my eyes poked out. When I think back, I really don't remember this happening to anyone I knew. Does anyone here know the stats on how many kids my age, back when toys were toys and had sharp points and small parts, actually had their eyes poked out? Do parents today still worry about this?

Karft, With all the safety regulations on toys. The number of children loosing an eye has increased by 10% in my State this year.
The Number one causes in my State are paper wads, pencils & adults. Not sure, they could be the Number one in the world.
Most Children adjust to loosing an eye. Many adults do not. Some even become blind when the good eye sympathizes with the loss of sight in the other eye.
My Son lost his eye at age 4. He is now 29. The loss of the eye never effected him.
