several weeks ago i posted a thread on needing bridge replacment and possible root canal work and the fee quoted to me is 1200 for 3 molar bridge replacement and 450 for root canal work, cavity refill will be free of charge.
so i went for my first appt to have an impression made for my temp mold last week(with my old bridge in place).
now they call me and said i should come back and have another impression, this time with the old bridge removed.
come to think of it,arent we supposed to make impression for temp bridge with the old bridge removed first??
are they not telling me they made a mistake the first time??
insight please??

stopwhining - I'm unable to answer your question because I've never had that type of dental work done. But it does make sense to me that they would have done it without your bridge in place.
Are you getting worried? You sound a little apprehensive to me.
But hey....If you're willing to travel....I have a set of pliers and could help you out, with some of your dental work, for a lot less money.

yes,i am irritated.
i have been going to this dental office for years, like all these mom and pop run offices, the girls doing the office work are young and not the most competent workers .
i understand that, but now one doctor told me one thing-like come and get the impression made and another dentist said to the girl, make the impression.
the one who instructed the girl to make the impression is the owner and older dentist, she has time to socialise with me about how she lost weight, but you would think if the old bridge needs to be removed, she would remind the girl who does the work to remove the old bridge or the girl who does the work should have known better??
then they sent the impression to the lab and the lab said make another impression.
so they are relying on the lab to catch their mistake??
this is not the only problem i have with these mom and pop operated medical offices, and dont get me started on the pharmacy here, one day a walgreen pharmacist keyed me into the system with wrong sex and wrong age so i get rejected by my insurance plan??

Yeah - they might have paid attention and done it right the first time.
Please explain to me the logic you used when comparing a screw up at your local dentist to the quality of work done across the border.
