Twelve, if you think homosexuals choose to be that way and you met a girl that used to be gay but decided not to be, would you still go out with her if you knew beforehand?

casual dating may be okay, but i would wonder why be a lesbian and why change??
lets ask the ladies the same question-would you date a guy who was a gay man and now claims he is straight??

I'm still trying to figure out how you think, Twelve, so thanks for answering my question.

P.S. Gays don't choose their sexual identity, imo, so going out with a guy that "used" to be gay wouldn't be an option. But thanks again for answering.

If he was real good looking and I didn't have Mikey, I would

I guess that could apply to ANYONE nowadays, gay or straight, concerning their past sexual history

how far would I go

Like I would post that on a public board

Well......... would you??

plus, it was a moot question and answer, since I'm married to a straight (and always has been btw ) guy.

BUT there is still something to be said about 'past sexual histories' to anyone dating or rather being serious with anyone, gay or straight.

Well would you?

No...of course not.

But for me....I would not consider a previously gay partner. While I agree there's a risk in any relationship....sex with such a partner would present a much greater risk than most, imo.

Linda, I don't think a gay man would be MORE of a risk than a straight man. Besides, it kind of a nonsense notion to begin with.

The one thing that bothers me, is homosexual men that get married for the sake of how it looks. I hope, in the very near future, that becomes a thing of the past and gay men don't have to hide behind anything any longer.

Near, I've heard about NAMBLA but I didn't want to look it up - I'm not sure it's something I want to see. I don't know if you know the answer, but isn't this kind of stuff illegal?

I won't look it up either. But I *think* its illegal, yet somewhere, could have been the news, said they had a website........they also have some sort of magazine, I think

Stands for North America Man-Boy Love Association?? I think

KD - I beg to differ. The gay population has had a MUCH bigger problem with HIV/AIDS than has the hetero male community.

--------------

And on NAMBLA.....they promote sex with under aged boys. And the ACLU is defending their 'right' to continue doing so.

That's what I thought, Near & Linda. I heard they promote pedophilia but didn't realize it was just men and boys. Is it an American organization or is it worldwide? I think it's pretty sick too. How do they get away with it?

Linda, I'll go look it up, but I thought those numbers were falling for gay men with AIDS.

KD - Might not be a bad idea, because last I'd read the rates were once again increasing. [don't know when that was though]

But we were talking about 'previously' gay men. And many gay 'contacts' leads to more of a chance of contacting the virus. They don't have a reputation for being monogamous.

Just as those who have sex with intervenous drug users have a higher chance of getting aids than do those of either sex who don't use the drugs.

not just past gay behavior, there is also the possibility of current and future gay behavior??
i doubt if any hardcore gay or semi hardcore would give up their preference.
but then to be fair-heterosexual partner could have a history of frequenting prostitues and that could spell STD.
