Evacuate the women and children. Give them 48 hours to leave. Allow Iraqi men of fighting age 48 hours to surrender. Then bomb and shell the city of Fallujah to the ground. Not a single US marine should have to die in this battle.

As long as there was plenty of warning so everyone could get out, I think it might not be a bad idea.

Don't actually KILL anyone, but evacuate them all out of range then nuke the city. It would make an impression, that's for sure.

"Harboring resistors? NOW watcha gonna do?"

I know it ain't gonna happen, and there are valid points against it, but it's nice to know we COULD do it.

Brilliant! Why didn't we think of that sooner. I mean everyone knows that that the way to curry favor and support in a nation that you have gone to to "rescue" and "rebuild" is to destroy entire towns where some insurgents live. Creating mass instant homeless populations has always been a big step towards creating public support and approval.

What an idiotic idea. That would really help the American cause in Iraq--not.

Considering we would rebuild that city better than it is now, it would be step in stopping the insurgents that needs to be done.

We rebuilt Germany after WWII, we can do it here.

But as usual replay, see the bleeding heart liberal chime in... see how they ham string our soldiers over there... better that 100 marines die taking the city than, omg we level the place...

Look in the mirror ladies, you and people like you are killing our soldiers...

especially as you can only "guess" what might happen, but we know what will happen if the marines have to take it building by building.

Unless he changes his story again, Bush's announced reason we areover there is to liberate the Iraqis, and then hand the country back to them. Carpet bombing would effectively eradicate not only the town in question (& any other town where heavy fighting pops up afterward ) but also an incredible amount of whatever goodwill toward America exists in the country. Just how long, after the reins of power are handed back to the Iraqis, do you think it would be that they made alliance with more radical countries against us?

Kinda like swatting a hornet, enraging the entire nest--and then wondering why you were stung.

Hey Twelve - muerde mi!. I was not aware that we were going for the easy fix. Coontrary o the opinions of many it is quite franky not our country to destroy. Unlike germany, they were not the host of an attacking army and to compare the situations is niave.

What EAG proposes and you support is something that is going to create more problems than it will solve. It is would create further outrage resullting in more attacks. The reason we are there is to fight the insurgents, not the country. That requires targeted attacks, the easy way out is only going to cause more problems i the long run.

Fallujah is a holy city to the Muslim's, the U.S. doesn't want to further incite the Muslim's by leveling a holy city. In doing so, they will fuel the arguement that this war, in effect, is a Christian crusade against the Muslim's. Which the radical cleric's will use to their advantage and could possibly kindle a civil war.

Kinda funny how the lefties all of a sudden aren't so concerned about our troops. They seem to value a
sh!thole town full of insurgents and terrorists over the lives of our troops.

Like 12 said, we can rebuild it. The reason why we are taking more casualties is because we are being too nice and they no longer fear us.

And how do you think our troops would fare if we start leveling cities? It seems to me that we have more enemies over there now then we did whne we went in. A move like that would probably send any remaining Iraqi supporters over to the other side.

You are still only guessing, there is no proof of that...

But the reality is Soldiers will die that don't need to, because people are being too "nice"...

Twelve - what you and EAG have chosen to ignore as you try to spin indictments against me about not caring about our troops is that I believe that your solution will put even more troops in other areas in danger.

You think I am wrong. That's fine. We are not going to come to agreement on this but what I resent is the implication that I care more about the buildings than about human life.
