What are people to do when it boils down to only being able to choose between 2 questionable guys to lead a country? It's not just the U.S., it happens here too. BIG choice we have - French Leader Number 1, or French Leader Number 2. Some democracy!

He would have been my choice, Fenix. He's a pretty intelligent guy. I'm just not sure about Kerry.

You should vote for Ralph Nader. I don't agree with anything Nader says but at least he doesn't flip-flop like a cook at the International House of Pancakes.

There's no bigger flip flop that George W. Bush...or I should say, flop flop. Can you count the number of reasons that Bush fliped for going to war with Iraq....first, the WMD, then the PROGRAMS for WMD, then to bring PEACE and DEMOCRACY. But whoa...we are now at war with the citizens.
I suppose you all don't like Kerry's purple heart.

Ralph Nader has oil interests, so I find that a bit hypocritical. With Bush, it's not just the lies he's told, it's the way he used people's fear from 9/11 to promote his fight against terrorists. As Bunni has pointed out many times, there are far more dangerous people in the world than Hussein, so why aren't they ever discussed with as much fervor? So if you want to talk about flip-flopping, Bush is the ultimate fish out of water.

Kraft - Edwards would have been the republican worst nightmare. He's got that Clintonesque charm. He's smart and very likable without coming across as a carreer politician. The DNC needs to just inform Kerry that his running mate is going to be Edwards and then get Edwards back out on the interview circuit adressing actual issues rather than crap that happened over 30 years ago that has absolutely no relevence on what is happening today. Kerry is getting bogged in the mud. Bring Edwards in as someone to help refocus the campaign back on the issues.

Kerry does need someone to help to bring the issues into focus. Also to reign him in whenever his temper starts to get out of control.

Actually, John Kerry is not addressing crap that happened 30 years ago except to answer crap that the Bush campaign dredges up. This week on his speaking tour the focus is on Education.

Well if you want a president who is an admitted baby killer (among the other atrocities he committed) Vote for Kerry.

Yes, I agree that Edwards should have been the Democratic Candidate as I stated in an earlier thread. He has no connection to Vietnam. He's young, great speaker but instead they choice Kerry which just might be the downfall of the fall election.
Numbers are bad for both Kerry and Bush. The only one increasing his numbers is Nader.

kraftdinner, reread Kerry's congressional testimony where he admitted taking part in killing unarmed civilians.
He is a self confessed war criminal.

kerry's post VN actions would most likely not have become the issue they have, had HE not - in almost every speech he's given since 2002 - continued to mention/brag about his "honorable" service.
HE'Sp the one that used this for his own political gain....and all that's been brought up since is just the FULL story about that same service.
He's a dimwit if he thought his anti-war, anti-American statements/associations weren't going to also be discussed.
They happened....they are a part of history and they will be part of the decision making process for those who question his ability and willingness to protect this country and to lead our Armed Forces as it's Commander-In-Chief.
------------------------
As to Edwards.....he would have been a MUCH better choice than kerry is, but I think his lack of time in politics hurt his chances to some extent.
No matter who is chosen to be his VP, it's not going to be very hard for that person to immediately out-shine kerry's persona and his aloofness. My guess is that it will be a person more to the 'center' of the issues....more moderate...not another ultra-liberal like kerry himself.
Re-elect President Bush!!
