Mr.Lou Dobbs from CNN is a real American hero. He cuts right through republican lies and rhetoric. Mister Dobbs always sticks up for the middle class and working poor American.

I've watched Dobbs on occassion......but calling him a HERO????
Kind of discounts what the true meaning of being a 'hero' is all about, imo.

I agree Bigpeepa. He's someone who doesn't mind saying how he feels and speaks his mind. I liked how he kept a running tab of how many were charged in the Enron scandel - that's when I first started to notice he gave a damn.

Linda_K. In my book anyone like Lou Dobbs that can cut through and expose republican lies and rhetoric is a hero. Men and women like Mr. Dobbs are the people that will save this country from being further destroyed by Geo Bush and his republican party.

it is a well know fact that the american media has been bought and is controled by right wing republicans who want to lie, and the reporters who work for these media outlets are not reporters but schlock artists pretending to be reporters, as for Mr Dobbs, he is trying real hard to find and tell the truth...

CNN liberal news network. Just think about who owns it? Lies, Lies, Lies that is all we hear in here. Liberals lie, Concervatives lie. I guess you can say Lou Dobbs is more of an american Hero than our boys in Iraq are. No newsman or women is a hero in my book. They have an agenda and they are using it to suck you in. Set your priorities read between the lines. This is an election year and it isn't over yet as we haven't heard the last of all the lies on both sides. It's the working class and the working poor American that is going to eat anything up that will sound better than what they have. These American Citizens are easily swayed.

bigpeepa - I know what you meant....Lou Dobbs is a leftie...no surprise there.
I wasn't addressing that point....but rather how often the term HERO is used when one hasn't done anything heroic.
Spreading either side of the political issues doesn't take a 'hero' to do. Anyone who can speak can do the same thing.

If you're comparing him to the troops, then no, he's not a hero. If you compare him to other newspersons that say what they're told to, he's a hero in that sense. That's my take on Bigpeepa's post.

it's people like linda and 12 and bear and the other facists here who have now created a more dangerous sitution for the troops abroad, not only the troops but all american tourists,
by condoning the torture and condoning murdering babies and women these vile people have endorsed the hate of many Muslims around the world, by condoning the murder of innocent people they have created a dangerous situation for all of us here at home....these vile warmongers have put our safety and those of the military and travelling tourists in danger...these are the traitors of america.....

Newsmen are not Hero's in my book, my opinion, as I stated they are trying to further their own agenda. This is what they get paid to do.
There is no need to get upset with what I said as Bigpeepa stated he was a Hero. I just stated what I believe. I have no agenda.

It was George W. who instead of looking for terrorists decided to wage a preemtive war on Iraq....and in doing so increased the danger to our counrty by escalating the hate toward our country, escalating the number of terrorists and alienating our allies all over the world. Now the credibility and the reputation of our country has been damaged probably irreputably by mismanagement of the war.

Lou Dobbs on the left. I used to entertain that you senile as a joke. You have confirmed it.
Dobbs is as conservative as they come. He is not a right wing Christian zealot however which seems to be your choice.
If you take the time to analyze Dobb's position you'll find him to be nationalistic to the point of xenophobia.
I enjoy his commentary and appreciate that he has guests from either side of the debate unlike some opinion shows.

The occasional acknowledgment by Lou Dobbs of guests who represent at least the moderate view is refreshing on CNN, a news channel that is definitely conservative, just like Dobbs.

My 2: I dont think newspeople are heros. But then again, YOU go out in the freezing cold and report a blizzard or fire at 2:00 am while the rest of us get to tsk! & talk about how bad it is! ha-ha. I do think they have some responsibility to get the story out with has much information as possible, but people do have their own builtin bias. At some point it must be unavoidable to mince with any judgement unless you are a complete drone. I've always thought Dobbs a kind of a conservative democrate. (Wonder if he knows he gets talked about here?

stopwhining, Mr. Lou Dobbs comes to my house 5 times a week at 6pm. When I am home I invite him in. I like the way he tells the truth and cuts through the lies Bush and his failed administration are spreading. Sorry I have no idea what Mr. Dobbs drives. I do know his republican friend Bob Novak drives a Mercedes. You remember Novak don't you he is the reporter that published the name of the CIA agent to the world from a White House source.
Libra63, you wrote "Lies,Lies,Lies, that is all we hear in here." I don't like the way our Presidents lie either. I didn't like when Bill Clinton lied to the American people. I do see a difference between the Bush and Clinton lies. When Clinton lied nobody died.
About the American middle class and the American working poor, I am sure they are not "easily swayed" and yes their vote counts just as much as yours.
Libra, you are right our troops in Iraq are American hero's no doubt in my mind about that. The problem I see is our troops have a failed commander and chief and these American hero's are giving up their lives because of it. Please remember I never said one word about the Iraq war in this post until you brought the troops up. I don't need to bring up the war everyone already knows that Geo. Bush is a failed commander and chief. Most of my posts will be about failed domestic policies from Geo Bush.
I hope your eyes heal very quickly and well. By the way I also believe that American Doctors that travel to places like Nepal to fix poor peoples eyes are also American Hero's.
NearTheSea, I have not forgotten Afghanistan. I see more American Hero's gave their life there this past week. How many years will it take Bush to find Bin Laden? By invading Iraq Bush has created hundreds if not thousands more Bin Laden's. No way have I forgotten Afghanistan.
