I love the Today Show but despise Katie. Her perkiness gets on my absolute last nerve and her interviews are prime examples of the worst in broadcasting. Would someone please tell this idiot sycophant that it is the interviewee not the interviewer that is supposed to be the topic of the conversation.
Most blatant recent example was during the Friends special where after watching a clip of an old interview with the cast she asked,"Is there anything from that that freaks you out, other than my hair?" What?!?!
Sorry, just watched an interview with her and the original Partridge Family cast where she had herself inserted into old footage and was sent over edge by the perky vapid little twit.
NBC - Please get rid of the Cu-pie Doll and put Anne on the couch full time!!
Rant over......

LOL - why don't you tell us how you REALLY feel about her.
Do you ever watch Paula Zahn? And if so...do you like her? I always enjoyed her when she was still at Fox....thought she did a good job of staying objective while she interviewed those from both sides of the issues. I still watch her occassionally....but not often.

I've seen her but not enough to have formed an opinion of her. There are very few people that grate on my nerves the waythat Katie does though. I cringe anytime she interviews a musician or writer that I like because we are guaranteed to hear her sing offkey, talk about her daughters, or mention an "amusing" incident with her dad. Funny thing is, watch the food segments with Matt Lauer and her. He cringes regularly too.
We Want Anne! We want Anne!

Fenix, they say she is one of those people that is either really liked or very disliked. But she's been there for years, probably not going anywhere.....
btw, fenix, just curious...how did you feel about Elvis Presley? (Lol)
Linda, I like Paula Zahn. Also like Candi whats-her-name. I think she is a terrific reporter. I like her intonation and writing (if she does her own - who knows?), but some of the women reporters, their voice grates on my nerves. We have a local one here whenever she says 'good' she says 'gutztz' - I cant understand why she cant say that simple word right!

I was too young to young to get into the Elvis thing Nero. I was aware of the controversies surrounding his death before I was really ever aware of him and I think that always overshadowed everything.
As for Katie fans - I think that will become part of my "test" on the long range potential of people as friends. Anyone who likes Katie is someone I know to keep at arms length due to unacceptable susceptibility to the inane and perky.
If you want to hear someone say something irritatingly wrong - you should hear me with Little Italy. I talk very fast (once lost a job because of it) and I can't pronunciate the Ts at my normal speed so it comes out Li'lle ilaly. I sounds like the Ls are spontaneously reproducing in my mouth. It's horrible!

Oh Yeah... Candi is a stripper name... maybe a small town weather girl who works with way too many props including a transparent umbrella with pink and purple flowers. It is not the name of a legit reporter..

lol fenix. Things like that are endearing for non-broadcasting people, but those doing it for a living should be able to announcate correctly..at 3/4 of the time!
hahah.
Candi is also a nickname for Candice which I always thought was a very nice name until it became symonomous with strippers. Shame.
Just read today emily (or is it emma?) is top name for girls, and Michael and Jacob for boys. Funny, Michael has been in the top boys names for years now.

Krafty - LOL! I hate to ask.
Nero - It's Emma. as inspired by the name of Ross and Rachels baby girl on Friends. Every som oftern Tv has a scary effect on kids names... remember when every little girl was named Ashley as in Ashley Olsen, twin to Mary-Kate from Full House? Oh yeah ... and Jessica... have you ever met a Jessica that did not almost have her act together but still left you thinking that one good smack upside the head would be beneficial to them?
Candice is a great name but it should not be shortened to Candi by anyone that cannot write a brass pole of as a business expense. I's are bad, it's not mature or nurture - it's name! Names that end in i are pretermined to lead one down a career path that involves spandex and six inch heels. Double ee's are an invitation to future vice busts.

rofl, fenix!!
is all the i's, ee, etc. etc. - is that from some scientific data they pulled from somewhere? And yep, many Jessica's and Ashly's abound. I was thinking the young girls would go for Brittney for 'spears' for their spawns now-a-days. But maybe she is not as popular as the media and record companies push her off to be, eh? (I cant stand her, btw.)
ps: I dont know Candy -- sh** you gonna make be go the cnn web site to see her last name? --- too lazy -- I am tired tonight -- worked all weekend -- just hanging out now but dont know if she spells it cand 'i' or cand 'y'. I guess I will go pull it up. bbl

That is a porn star name if ever there was one. What agent let her get away with not changing that one?

I heard that Mattel is designing a Katie type Barbie doll. I think that you need one for Christmas.
I think she is cool. When she first started on the Today Show about 15 years ago, she was so HOTTTTTTTT.
True Americans do not exclude anybody. They recognize that everyone should have the same rights. Bigotry, intolerance and hatred are cancers of the mind.

I didn't see her then but I did watch her stomp all over two interviews she was doing this morning. What is the point of interviewing someone if you are going to talk while they are answering? Why do people agree to be interviewed by her? If I ever doing anything newsworthy, I would insist on Anne or Al... or even the laughing cameraman, but never would I agree to talk to her... maybe I would just send a stand-in mannequin - she does not need a live body there anyway.
The worse part is that I suddenly flashed to still another few weeks this summer of Olympic coverage where she primps and preens as (somebody save me....) she tries on others fashions and medals while all the while stomping all over their interviews too.
